The product does wonders on a 10+ year old deck. The application is not easy, but worth the end result. Everyone is amazed how it looks before and after. Just applied on 6/22-23. Took 1.5 days two people working to finish. The Barn Red color is really red. The sample (as always) is different than sample. I love red, so not real disappointed. Still need to go over the area with a brush to get into the cracks, but the job is done--that is just refinement.

one shot, your deck is 144 sq feet, 3 gallons is what you needed. and you must apply 2 coats, each gallon does 50 sq feet with 2 coats, hence 3 gallons for you. you do 144 sq feet with 1 and then give it a bad rating, lol. i just spent all day friday and half of saturday doing my top and bottom decks which are both 20x15 and as of now they look better than they ever have. i bought 3 5 gallon buckets, so yea over 450 dollars but with 2 coats they look great and i will let you know how they hold upto the chlorine.
also these decks are at least 15 years old and had lots of splits, as of now they have filled in the cracks better than i had hoped.

Cleaned my 8 year old deck per the instructions, applied at the recommended coverage rate. Should have taken only 2 gallons to do 2 coats. To fill the cracks & all else this is advertised to do it took 6 gallons. Could have replaced the decking for less money. Now the deck is so hot during the day you do not dare step on it bare feet, even our dog ( a Great Dane) will not stand on it it is so hot. NEVER, NEVER NEVER AGAIN!

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by NOLa Talk to me in a year
I redid our deck with Deck Over in May of last year (2013). Pressure washed and used Behr Premium All In One wood cleaner to get it thoroughly cleaned. Sanded and used wood filler where needed then sanded some more (I really believe that a job's not worth doing if the prep work isn't done correctly, especially on a larger project like this one). Applied a total of 5 to 6 gallons of this product as I put two coats on. It looked amazing- our fifteen year old deck looked new again and I was impressed with what I thought was a solid, protective finish that would last for years. WRONG! One year later I'm so mad I could scream! The stuff is chipping and peeling in many spots, cracks have reappeared, the flat surfaces are dull and this stuff holds on to dirt like you wouldn't believe. The deck, to put it mildly, looks horrible! If I'd reviewed this garbage last year I would have given it 5 stars and raved about how wonderful it was. Once again, WRONG! So for those that gave it 5 stars, talk to me in a year and see if you'd still give it the same rating. Wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy if I had one. Buyer beware.

easy to apply. really did a good job of filling cracks and filling in splinters.I am impressed. Coverage seems better than 100 sq ft per gallon.
tip: watch the temperature...cooler than 80 is better. keep in shade. has tendency to dry skim over

I painted my hadicapped ramp last year and this product
has endured the Nebr. winter very well. It said to put on two
coats for maximum benefit and I only had time for one coat
and it still help up well. This spring I'll apply the second coat
but so far does not need it.

Covers well but goes on very thick. Need to buy as thick a roller cover as you can afford.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by adele0283 Works Great on Old Wood
I read some bad reviews on this, so before I used it on a large project, I used this as a test on two identical bird houses. One was new wood and one was severely weather beaten. I cleaned both houses with a good brush and the garden hose. I let dry for two days. I did the NEW house first, and when I opened the can, I almost DIED from the smell. It smells like straight AMMONIA. It is THE worst smelling product I ever used. It was very thick, easy to spread, and I was done in a jiffy with only ONE coat. The 2nd OLD house, soaked up more product because the wood was so dry and brittle. But it coated evenly and looked good even with only one heavy coat. Afterwards, you could not tell which was the new house and which was the old. I was impressed. Water runs right off them when it rains. I have not seen any signs of peeling or fading after a month. Lets see how it looks after being outside for a year. It cleans up with simple soap and water too.
