Used on a previously-painted patio (after power washing, had some paint and some exposed concrete). Opened lid, some blue coloring was on surface (despite being bought and mixed two days earlier) so had to dump back and forth into separate bucket. Used a 1/2" nap roller as recommended; but a 3/4" would have been better, there were lots of tiny air bubbles that popped, necessitating a second coat. Tried to put it on thick and heavy, but it still covered twice as much as directions said (1 gal = 100 sq ft x 2 coats).
The second coat was done in the morning, in the shade, but after drying the roller marks are still visible. Maybe they will fade after weathering.
Pros: Overall appearance is nice (color: Cordovan Brown); dried paint on fingers feels elastic so I'm guessing it won't chip for a long time; cannot see underlying patches of paint vs concrete.

I bought two 5 gallon containers of this stuff, as well as the treatment prep solution to clean the deck off with first. I followed directions pretty much to a âTâ though 2 coats of it...even doing this in a late Fall weekend when the weather wouldnât cause issues. Looked great when it went on and was thinking with that strong ammonia odor that this stuff was binding to my wood really well. Was pretty pleased with it for many months. However, after this past winter, I have cracking & peeling just about everywhere including the hand rails that donât get hardly any touch. Over $400 down the drain if you add up all the supplies this took. VERY disappointed.

August of 2013 we bought 15 gallons to refresh our deck. Gave it 3 coats and look acceptable. Well, we had a snowy winter and now it looks awful. It is peeling in sheets on much of the deck. I have no idea what we are going to do now. I am not sure if there is a solution. There was no salt applied to the deck so that was not an issue. I am truly devastated having spent almost $500 for this product. I cannot afford to have the deck rebuilt so I am stuck with a terrible deck on my home. I have used Behr products before and they are always very good. I guess I am truly stuck!!!!
I have always been a Home Depot guy and actually worked there for a while 2 years ago.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0Â by DoItYourself Waste of time and money.
I was very excited when I first purchased this product. My deck was terrible and after watching the videos and looking at the reviews I decided on this product. It looked so easy in the videos.
Well, after taking the time (seemed like forever) to completely sand and prepare my deck, I started to apply the Deck-over. First of all, it was so clumpy and thick it was almost impossible to roll on. I used the recommended roller and everything. Then it used so much just to cover a small surface, i ended up having to buy at least twice what i originally planned.
It took way more time, and far more money than I had planned to do this project, and worst of all, less than one year later it is cracking, peeling, and blistering all over. I would NOT recommend this product to anyone that does not wish to have to do all the work over again in another year or two. Also, it is extremely hard to keep clean, the redwood color shows every speck of dust and no broom or hose seems to get it off. Maybe if you used a pressure washer, but I'm sure that would cause the paint to peel and blister faster.
P.S. (some people are saying the deck with the deck-over looks worse than before, very disappointed in this product.)

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0Â by Chip BEHR Permium DeckOver worked as advertised on my Deck
I used BEHR CEDAR NATURALTONE WOOD and CONCRETE PAINT on my weather exposed deck. I had to replace about half of the 14 year old boards so I needed a product that would help improve the remaining life of the existing boards and match up with the newly installed ones. BEHR PREMIUM DECKOVER did this nicely. Proper preparation of the wood before application was as just as important with BEHR as any other product on the market to obtain the overall desired success upon completion. My only complaint with the BEHR PREMIUM DECKOVER was the color I chose(did not check color samples beforehand). More of a butterscotch pudding color than a natural cedar tone(house color). Clean up was easy with water. I would definitely use BEHR PERMIUM DECKOVER again.
