The product does seal up cracks ok but it's a lot of work to do so. It is very heavy and does not flow into cracks easily. I brush and rolled, maybe sprayed it may do better. The coverage is poor and it get's very gummy when it's hot out. It say's so on the info, so it was not a surprise. You have to check for skippers after it dries, especially on vertical applications. It recommends not to cut it, which I did not do on the deck surface. But you have to, just a bit, for vertical apps. Fencing, hand rail, etc. What I figured should take me 15-20 gallon took 25 gallon, I'm a retired painter,(40 years), and know how to estimate. It is not a product I would use again, at the amount I used. Small project maybe, but it's too expensive for larger jobs. For me anyway.

It was outstanding, covering a well worn - maybe 25 year old deck. I used to re-stain every 3 years, hopefully i will get many more years with Deck Over.
One note, the can idicates that with 2 coats, one can expect 50 Sq Ft per gallon. I am guessing I got over 80.
Only, minor downside, is that it dries real quickly, do not leave any "spills". One needs to immediately spread any "spill", ala from the roller.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by catm Do not put this stuff on your deck!
I bought this product to make a newer addition match the older part of my deck. It was time consuming and difficult to apply. We used 2 coats as recommended. It covered well and did mask the difference in age of the 2 sections.
My first complaint was that it made the surface of the deck (which surrounds a pool) incredibly hot and impossible to walk on without shoes.
Now after only 2 years the finish is cracking and peeling. It looks terrible. My once lovely deck is an eyesore! A waste of time and money that destroyed my deck, which was a considerable investment and can not be presently replaced.

I bought two 5 gallon containers of this stuff, as well as the treatment prep solution to clean the deck off with first. I followed directions pretty much to a “T” though 2 coats of it...even doing this in a late Fall weekend when the weather wouldn’t cause issues. Looked great when it went on and was thinking with that strong ammonia odor that this stuff was binding to my wood really well. Was pretty pleased with it for many months. However, after this past winter, I have cracking & peeling just about everywhere including the hand rails that don’t get hardly any touch. Over $400 down the drain if you add up all the supplies this took. VERY disappointed.

August of 2013 we bought 15 gallons to refresh our deck. Gave it 3 coats and look acceptable. Well, we had a snowy winter and now it looks awful. It is peeling in sheets on much of the deck. I have no idea what we are going to do now. I am not sure if there is a solution. There was no salt applied to the deck so that was not an issue. I am truly devastated having spent almost $500 for this product. I cannot afford to have the deck rebuilt so I am stuck with a terrible deck on my home. I have used Behr products before and they are always very good. I guess I am truly stuck!!!!
I have always been a Home Depot guy and actually worked there for a while 2 years ago.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Calvin Junk !!! DO NOT put on concrete patio !! four months and it's filthy. Does not come clean .
I am furious with this company. Applied to concrete patio. After just four months it's filthy dirty and can not be cleaned. It attracts dirt. Everything shows on patio. shoe marks, furniture marks. Worst part is that is seems to remain soft enough to let dirt ground in. It never hardens like an epoxy. I don't know what the heck to do with my patio now. How the am I going to fix this. I should have used a stain. I was told to use something from Sherwin Williams and not use Home Depot products. Should have listened. My patio is ruined !!

Used a roller and brush to apply all the deck over paint. It drys fast so you have to watch for drips and if you think you need 5 Gals you will need 10 if you want to coat your deck really thick with paint. All and all it turned out what I wanted and took care of the cracks in the wood and will protect what is left of the deck. If you have an old deck and want it back to life try this and will save you from having to redo all the wood on the deck.
