The product claims to cover gaps up 1/4 inch but it is barely filling in splits in the grain that are less than 1/8th. The coverage is grossly over stated on the pail. I had 220 sq ft to do and it barely did one good coat on that. The texture and non slip are true to the advertisement but the durability is already in question as there are flakes appearing in heavy traffic areas after only a week. Overall very disappointed in the product and would not buy again nor recommend.

Product would not work in sprayer(stopped up the nozzle), would not flow thu power roller. Had to use brush and roller. Doubled the time to do the deck. The product has some kind of fine sand in it that makes it useless in power machines.

I bought two 5 gallon containers of this stuff, as well as the treatment prep solution to clean the deck off with first. I followed directions pretty much to a “T” though 2 coats of it...even doing this in a late Fall weekend when the weather wouldn’t cause issues. Looked great when it went on and was thinking with that strong ammonia odor that this stuff was binding to my wood really well. Was pretty pleased with it for many months. However, after this past winter, I have cracking & peeling just about everywhere including the hand rails that don’t get hardly any touch. Over $400 down the drain if you add up all the supplies this took. VERY disappointed.

August of 2013 we bought 15 gallons to refresh our deck. Gave it 3 coats and look acceptable. Well, we had a snowy winter and now it looks awful. It is peeling in sheets on much of the deck. I have no idea what we are going to do now. I am not sure if there is a solution. There was no salt applied to the deck so that was not an issue. I am truly devastated having spent almost $500 for this product. I cannot afford to have the deck rebuilt so I am stuck with a terrible deck on my home. I have used Behr products before and they are always very good. I guess I am truly stuck!!!!
I have always been a Home Depot guy and actually worked there for a while 2 years ago.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by DoItYourself Waste of time and money.
I was very excited when I first purchased this product. My deck was terrible and after watching the videos and looking at the reviews I decided on this product. It looked so easy in the videos.
Well, after taking the time (seemed like forever) to completely sand and prepare my deck, I started to apply the Deck-over. First of all, it was so clumpy and thick it was almost impossible to roll on. I used the recommended roller and everything. Then it used so much just to cover a small surface, i ended up having to buy at least twice what i originally planned.
It took way more time, and far more money than I had planned to do this project, and worst of all, less than one year later it is cracking, peeling, and blistering all over. I would NOT recommend this product to anyone that does not wish to have to do all the work over again in another year or two. Also, it is extremely hard to keep clean, the redwood color shows every speck of dust and no broom or hose seems to get it off. Maybe if you used a pressure washer, but I'm sure that would cause the paint to peel and blister faster.
P.S. (some people are saying the deck with the deck-over looks worse than before, very disappointed in this product.)

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Chip BEHR Permium DeckOver worked as advertised on my Deck
I used BEHR CEDAR NATURALTONE WOOD and CONCRETE PAINT on my weather exposed deck. I had to replace about half of the 14 year old boards so I needed a product that would help improve the remaining life of the existing boards and match up with the newly installed ones. BEHR PREMIUM DECKOVER did this nicely. Proper preparation of the wood before application was as just as important with BEHR as any other product on the market to obtain the overall desired success upon completion. My only complaint with the BEHR PREMIUM DECKOVER was the color I chose(did not check color samples beforehand). More of a butterscotch pudding color than a natural cedar tone(house color). Clean up was easy with water. I would definitely use BEHR PERMIUM DECKOVER again.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by MIKAFILMS Old Deck back to Life
Used a roller and brush to apply all the deck over paint. It drys fast so you have to watch for drips and if you think you need 5 Gals you will need 10 if you want to coat your deck really thick with paint. All and all it turned out what I wanted and took care of the cracks in the wood and will protect what is left of the deck. If you have an old deck and want it back to life try this and will save you from having to redo all the wood on the deck.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by apljacker Excellent deck paint
I bought a five-gallon bucket of Deckover and waited impatiently for the rain to stop in early July. Finally got a stretch of very hot weather, and painted despite 90-degree-plus temps. Label says to paint in 50-90 degree weather. It's very thick, giving a good coating to my worn 18-year-old deck. Even one coat looked good, but I put the recommended two on, and now the surface is much nicer to walk on. It made my deck look brand new. I had just enough left over to paint my concrete entry steps, and they came out great, too! I am very happy with this product.
