For an amateur painter such as me this means a huge mess due to splatter and drips. Also makes it very difficult to get good lines. The thin consistency makes it hard to free hand trim lines and it will seep under painters tape. If I were using this in a sprayer, it may be better. I didn't read sprayer specific directions, but I doubt that you would need to dilute it. Pour it in and go. Coverage on this was decent. I did prime first because the room walls were in poor shape. One gallon did a 12x12x8 room. I used Sherwin Williams on the last 3 rooms that I painted. Got it on sale otherwise I probably would never have tried it. Will never use anything else after this. It just isn't worth the trouble using poor quality paint to save a few bucks.

However, that is not true. When I used this paint with painter's tape it came off the wall. It was frustrating, time consuming and costly. You're better off buying a cheaper paint and then a primer.

Buyer beware......if you're not painting over white, this paint will not cover even pale colors. Now, I've been a fan of BEHR paint for some 21 yrs. after trying and using other name brand paints and with good to great results mostly over white tone walls. Since retiring I decided to repaint a newly purchased 9 yr. old home with pale green and blue walls. Wanting to do a pro job I read the BEHR "how to paint interior walls", bought the best rollers, the best brushes and what I thought to be the best primer/paint for the job. I kept the house at 70*, only painted on dry days and started at 3'x3' sections working from top to bottom. Before I got 6' down the wall I could already see bleed thru. I tried light strokes with both the roller and brush, went out and bought cheaper rollers and brushes and nothing helped. Since there is a no return policy, I'm now stuck with multiple gallons of paint for the other rooms and possibly having to repaint what I've already done. Story short......I should have read all the reviews before my purchase and should have bought paint for one room at a time. Save your money....I'll never buy Ultra again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Wasted a whole weekend, only to have to redo! We spent the entire weekend painting an interior hallway with Behr Plus Ultra Eggshell Enamel. The problem? Streaking and texture differences from roller path to the next roller path. We painted over the walls at least 4 times, waiting for dry time and using quality Purdy rollers. I finally gave it up at 6 p.m. tonight and am going to a flat paint from SW. What a waste of time and money! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to use I recently painted most of my house with Marquee eggshell and matte finishes. It was very easy to apply and the coverage was great. One coat for the matte charcoal colors. I had to put on 2 coats of a lighter eggshell over the charcoal in one of the rooms when my wife changed her mind. The room was to small without enough natural light for the charcoal color. I was actually able to save money by only using 1 coat even though Marquee is more expensive. Just finished painting a room 12'x12' with 8' walls, minus 3'x7' window and a sliding walk-in closet, (7' X 80" double wide doors). It took 2 gals. of deep green eggshell paint to cover or the flat beige/tan paint, 3 days and at least four coats to cover everything. I will never use Behr paint again. I did in the past on my first house, no problem, now this new primer and paint in one - no good. It's a waste of money and time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Behr Continues To Be A Favorite I've been using Behr paint for at least 20 years and it never fails me. The coverage is as good or better than more expensive paints I have used over the years. This latest job was to refresh my crafting room. The coverage is great and I'm pleased with the color. I did purchase three samples prior to deciding. I love that I can purchase samples and be sure of my choice. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Always loved Behr paint My first experience with Behr paint was at our previous home and I loved it so much that when we bought our 1905 farmhouse it was the only paint option I looked at for painting our new home. I love the color selection, the paint covers well and we get so many compliments on the colors we chose. I will always go to Behr paint for my paint choice [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Skeptical but worked great! I was skeptical about using the paint with primer already mixed in. SO much so that I painted a wall with primer first so see what worked best. Using the additional primer turned out to be a waste of time and money. The paint actually went on nicer without using a separate primer and turned out beautiful. I had no problems and love the results! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to use even for a beginner For the young first time owners this is a great product. It's easy to use and saves time with great results. We've used this product many times especially in older homes where the walls are not perfect. It's great for rentals too, you get the job done quickly with great results. It saves time and in the long run money. I love this product [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

We purchased 15 gallons of the Behr premium plus for a whole house paint job. One particular room was a very dark color and we were switching to a light color so for that room we bought the Ultra for that room. The bedroom is only 10x9 and 1 gallon of this stuff only was able to do 75% of the room. It was awful to apply. Coverage was horrible and the old color showed right through. If you tried to touch up any spots the paint peeled right off the wall. Since we had a bunch of the lower grade of Behr paint we tried it on the wall that we couldn't cover with this stuff. It went on perfect, covered completely with none of the old color showing through. Home Depot of course wouldn't take a return on the paint and blamed it on how we applied it. Some how we managed to do the other 15 gallons correctly but screwed up this one room. Don't waste your money on the Ultra, just stick with the premium plus, it went on perfectly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best paint ever We used Behr Premium Plus Ultra Interior Eggshell to paint our two story living room and hallway. It covered fantastically and did not require a second coat. This was my first experience with Behr paint and I will definitely use this paint on my next project. Thank you Behr for such a awesome product! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Choice and Coverage Behr Premium Plus Ultra is a wonderful paint as it covers extremely well and has a rich consistency that rolls on smoothly and covers old paint well. This is my go-to-paint and is priced well compared to leading paints. It also has low odor compared to other brands, which is a must for my sinuses! Rated 5 out of 5 by from No such thing as 1 coat. 2 coats Complete, or 1 coat with touch-ups After some previous auto paint and body experience, and some time in the construction world, I would normally spend all of paint money at paint stores such as Sherwin or Benjamin. However, the days of watered down BEHR paint are over, and the result is a reliably good product every time. The paint is consistently mixed, and coats cover very well. I painted this directly over new drywall and compound, as well as some painted wall, and it definitely covered in one coat. However, it left behind some spots due to the roller running dry. A second think coat made the wall look complete, NO PRIMER NEEDED! On another wall, I was running short, and ended up having to stretch a quart. Same thing, the roller left a few speckles behind, but I touched them up as I painted the edges and everything blended very well, no need for a second coat. I highly recommend this product. As usual, everything cleaned up with water. ProTip: If leaving the roller and brush unattended for a while (for lunch), just wrap them in a bag (the home depot bag).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Paint Just wanted to say I've used Behr paint for about 12 years now. Once in awhile, I have been tempted and tried other brands to cut some costs where I thought it was possible. Every time I have done this, I regret it because of the lost time aggravation it causes. Our contractor recommened using eggshell because our walls were not in the best condition. We chose enamel to make the paint more durable. So far it seems like a good choice.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent paint! Buy floetrol to add to your paint. This is excellent paint. I painted my daughters room and it looks great. My strong suggestion is that you buy Floetrol to add to the paint. It eliminates brush and/or roller marks and to me it seems to even out the paint application. It will also help with some of the issues I read where people complained that the paint "lifted" back onto the roller or had roller marks. The actual issue is painting technique and/or cheap roller covers. Don't cheap out on the rollers and make sure you load enough paint.. REASONS WHY PAINT "LIFTS" WHEN ROLLING OR SHOWS ROLLER MARKS (1) Rolling back over the freshly applied paint after it has had enough time to start to "set up". If you're going to roll over a freshly applied film, do so while the paint is still wet - not after it's had a few (or several) minutes to dry. (2) If you can see the product "lifting" from the surface as you roll over it (and not because of what's described in #1), that is a tell-tale sign of a cheap roller cover. If you buy floetrol and a good roller cover you will be pleased with the outcome. The paint results will look solid and uniform. I can speak from experience because initially every time I tried to paint it always looked awful and I had all but given up on ever painting again; then I received some advice from a friend who paints professionally. I hope this will help someone else out too.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Ok. Not great I used this paint and painted over well primed new drywall. It did not cover in one coat and needed two. I also experienced experienced that "pull up" while painting, that others have mentioned...it picks up pieces of recently applied paint and drops it onto other areas...so you have to constantly eyeball your painting to pull these "scraps" out of the wet paint. I purchased this paint + primer. Wish I had just bought regular paint. Took a complete gallon to paint a small bedroom. The finish was also not as "flat" as I wished...finish was somewhere between semi-gloss and flat. I like a flat finish that completely absorbs all light...this reflected light a bit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What I rely on for interior painting I have used this for most of my interior painting projects. When I have not used it, because of a sale on another brand, I found my self wishing I had just spent a little more and got what works. Covers in one coat if not changing a drastic color change. Even when I did need to do a second coat on a color change project I could cover on the second coat with ease. Eggshell looks great on just about any interior room wall. Super easy clean up and no odor. When I'm done there is no reminder in the air that I just painted a room in the house.
