18 in. 12 Amp Corded Electric Lawn Mower is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 242.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Small Yard, No Problem This mower works very well and is similar to the mower I was replacing (also electric but from another store). It is easier to push, takes up less space to store, and mulches well without leaving big clumps of grass on the lawn. It was simple to put together out of the box and I was mowing within ten minutes. This mower does what I need without a lot of hassle. I have a fairly small yard with some play structures that I have to mow around and a small incline. I use a fairly long extension cord and as long as I start near the outlet and work out from there the cord doesn't usually become an issue.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good lawn mower I bought a Black and Decker electric mower because I was tired of dealing with the ordeal of getting my gas mower started. I thought about buying a battery-powered mower but did not want to pay the additional money. I am a 64-year-old woman, and wanted a mower that was easy to use and relatively light to push. The Black and Decker has filled those requirements and done a nice job on my lawn. It was also simple to assemble, and it is easy to switch back and forth between mulching, using the side discharge chute, and using the rear bag. Nothing is ever going to make me enjoy mowing the lawn, but this mower makes the chore a lot more tolerable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it! The mower was easy to put together. It's also really easy to use - you just plug it in pull the handle up and go. No fighting with pull cords, spark plugs or running out of gas. I have a huge yard so It takes a long time to cut when I let grow too high but it still works good. It also works well on leaves - I used it recently to mulch all the leaves in the yard to avoid having a yard service clean them.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good value electric mower If you are OK with electric mowers and managing a power cord while you mow, this mower is worth it. While this mower has a plastic feel to it, it cuts and puts the grass into the catcher well. I have a total of around 3600 sq. ft of lawn and it takes me about 40 minutes to cut it all. Do make sure you purchase using a platinum credit card or AMEX to double the warranty period as most credit cards will do.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good mower The mower was easy to assemble and set up. This is our first electric mower, and getting used to working around the extension cord is a bit unusual, but I think it will be fine. The start up is insanely easy, just pull a lever, no force required at all. And it's unusual how quickly it stops when you let go, none of that wind-down you get with gas mowers. Just let to of the lever and it instantly stops. As for power, it seems plenty strong enough for even thick 4-5 inch high grass that's damp, which is about the worst I should ever be putting it through. Over all, a good mower. I hope, since it's electric, it will last for years and years.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy to use and quiet I'm a 60 lady... who after 40 years needs to cut my own lawn.... it is easy to put together and works fine.... so far. My sons don't like that I did not get a power mover... but I did not want to deal with gas... and starting a gas motor... this one works easy.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Pro's and con's I got an electric mower because I was sick of struggling with my gas mower that I could hardly get started, and if it shut off would have to wait at least 20 min. to start up again. I have had this mower now for two mowing seasons and there are pro's and con's: Pro: After struggling with an old electric mower, the ease with which this turns on and off as frequently as you want is like magic. This mower is light weight and I can push it with only one hand, even up a moderately steep hill. (I'm a semi-active female in my 30's) The assembly is easy and it can be stored compactly. It is quiet, so I can be more aware of my surroundings. It is easy to switch between the bagger and mulcher, and both work well. It is eco-friendly and you don't have to change the gas or oil...relatively maintenance free. Con: The engine is not as powerful as I expected. It takes more time to mow the lawn: First, learning to struggle with cord makes mowing take longer. Even after you get a system down it can cause minor setbacks. Second, the instructions suggest overlapping half the previous row you mowed, meaning you have to go over each area twice. Doing this there were still so many spots left uncut that I had to go over most places 3 times, or just leave my lawn looking choppy. And even then there would be many missed blades. I found just going over each row twice before going on almost eliminates having to go over spots 3 times, but you will still have missed blades of grass. If the grass gets too long, you have to walk *slow* to get the grass cut. This makes it take even longer. For small areas of the yard where you can't do rows, you sort of have to "vacuum" the grass since you have to go over every spot 2 or more times. Bottom line: Over all this mower is good if you don't mind the extra time it will take to mow and if you don't mind having a lawn with blades of grass sticking up every foot or two. Using this mower takes 2-3 times as long for mowing because of having to go over spots 2-3 times and having to walk slow. I feel like it wastes my time when I have to go over *every* spot more than once. If you have a small lawn it might not be so frustrating. If you have a medium to large lawn (I have to use two plug-in locations to mow the lawn, and use every bit of the 100 foot chord in 3 directions: front, side, and back yards) and don't want to spend 5-6+ hours to mow the lawn, I would suggest a different mower.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent, I love it! I have to start with the fact that I was already used to using an electric powered weed eater, so the cord has never been an issue for me with using this electric lawn mower. You will need a long extension cord depending on the size of your yard. I've owned this product for several months and it has not failed me once, it runs like new every time, picks up to the bag very nicely, and leaves my lawn nice and even. If you have never used an electric and plugged lawn mower all you need to do to avoid issues with the cord is start from the spot closest to the cord and mow your way away from the plug, this way it should never be in your way. It is not heavy, so pushing/lifting is not an issue.
