60.8 pounds is light enough to carry in one hand?

Not for me!
Asked by: tj
This saw is about as easy to carry around as a full 5 gallon bucket of joint compound and just as awkward.

Is the blade/table height adjustable?

Can I make non-cut-through cuts with this saw? I don't see it listed anywhere, but it's critical for me.
Asked by: Poopoo
Yes you can do a non-cuthtrough cuts, blade goes up and down with that black wheel (by angle measurement piece in the picture).

At 60 lbs it is a bit heavy to move any distance without assistance or a rolling stand. However, the extra weight provides stability when working with bulky and/or heavy lumber. The fence is fairly easy to operate and solid when locked into place. All of the on-board storage, except for the power cord, is inside the frame but easy to get to. Also, this saw will accept a dado stack. Check out the my review of this saw on Youtube: https://youtu.be/2P76b2p9Hj0

I was really looking forward to purchasing this saw based on all of the Bosch hype. I have several other Bosch tools and have been impressed with them for the most part. This saw is nowhere near being worth what is being charged for it. Bosch needs to come to the realization that you can't make everything out of plastic especially the cheap plastic used in this saw. You can usually tell how good a power tool is by the sound of the motor. The motor on my older Bosch miter saw is smooth as glass. The motor on this saw is very loud and whiny. Whiny is usually a sign of a cheap motor. The blade insert is so thin and cheap that it flexes when making narrow rips. Ryobi has better table inserts. The included blade may be okay for framing but too rough for trim. Throw the square away. They shouldn't have even bothered with this one. The quality of the table is poor and the accuracy of the fence is questionable. Bosch really over sold this one. This saw may be worth $200.00 -maybe.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great little saw! Very loud though. This is a great little portable saw. It's very portable and packs down small. It's got more than enough power to rip hardwood and long sheets. The only drawback is how loud it is.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great small table saw Needed a table saw for home renovations. Although I would love to have a large table saw, did not have the time nor space for such a purchase. This saw's power and accuracy are spot on. You can rip through 2 or 3 inch stock no problem. Fence is pretty accurate. All the saw's accessories store on the saw, nice feature. If you need to rip 4'' or larger thickness , you wont clear the guard. The table extends width wise ,but is small length wise. So cutting angles on long stock is not possible w/ the miter , unless you build a feed table . Although it looks like light , it has more weight than you think. Still portable, but if you have physical limitations , might be tough to carry around. I am happy with this purchase, and consider this saw to be a great tool in my collection !

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Don't underestimate this saw This is my second Bosch saw. I also have a Delta Contractors saw, an older Craftsman saw and a 30 year old 2.0 hp Rockwell contractors saw and this one outpowers them all. When it said it had a 4 hp motor, I kind of rolled my eyes. I still don't see it as a true 4 HP by any means, but it is definitely powerful enough. I tested it with two inch oak plank and yes it powered through it without bogging down. The Delta Contractors saw would have been bogging the whole way and even the Rockwell would have had some difficulty. The fence is very straight right out of the box. It is not like most small fences. It is tight and the handle is metal, not plastic. I built my own stand for it and put it on an existing dolly (the wheels on the dolly allow it to move side to side, but not front to back, for obvious reasons). The dust collection is also a pleasant surprise. It efficiently shoots all the sawdust out a port in the back. I put a short shop vac hose on it and sent the dust into a bucket and it works well (easier than trying to deal with the manufacturer's bag). Obviously it does not pick up all the sawdust, some shoots out the top, but it is almost as efficient as my other table saws that have dust collection. If you are just getting started in woodworking, get this saw. If you don't have a shop, you can easily set this up and take it down, and cleanup is a LOT easier than a saw that sends all the dust everywhere.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Portability, capacity, affordability I have had the larger Bosch and Makita job site table saws, and the GTS1031 incorporates great features in a more portable form. A ripping blade improves its most typical function, and dust collection is reasonable. I discovered recently, however, that the motor trips the arc-fault protected circuits required in updated electric service panels. Not a deal breaker, but perhaps remedied by a soft start motor in the next generation.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I Beat This Saw & it Wont Die I'm constantly using this saw. I don't just use it, i beat it hard. I'm frequently making custom rails out of 4x4x8 posts pressure treated, red ceder, mohagany, etc... there's only 2 down sides to this saw. 1 the gut power for what i do, cutting the 4x4x8 strains it & every once in a while I'll end up popping circuit breaker. for me this isn't a big deal cause I'm using a generator to power it. the only other flaw is i wish it took a bigger blade but really thats my flaw not the machines. this saw cuts true & the arm secures tight. i had a ryobi tabke saw that the arm would move making cuts that weren't true & after 10 4x4x8 cuts it up & died on me. this bosch saw kicks hardcore behind for $349.00. i recommend it to anyone who's out working everyday, you'll wish you bought it sooner.
