This is really a great product. Anyone with a slow drain would be crazy to NOT try this first. Chances are, it will do the trick and it is a lot easier than removing the trap from under the sink. It is very, very effective and very easy to use. Here are a couple of tips from my experience. First, wear goggles or glasses, because nasty stuff splatters out of the drain. Second, wear gloves, because nasty stuff splatters out of the drain. Third, have a garbage bag handy to catch all the nasty stuff that splatters out of the sink. You will likely make multiple forays into the drain and you'll will be amazed and disgusted by how much gunk you'll pull out. Having the trash bag handy makes going back for more a lot easier. Fourth, have a pair of long-nose pliers handy to pull out the chunks of gunk loosed by this tool. Lastly, as others have recommended, the tool does seemingly get stuck from time to time. Yanking hard doesn't really help. Just wiggle and jiggle and it will eventually come loose. I've never written a review before, but this tool did such an excellent job, and was so fast, easy and absurdly inexpensive, I felt compelled to pass along my experience.

Slow bathroom sink drain fixed in 10 minutes or less (including clean up) with no tools other than a Zip-It. I used it to fix my girlfriends drain and parents drain. No need to remove stopper. 1. Open drain stopper all the way. 2. Turn on the water. 3. Insert the Zip-It. 4. Remove the Zip-It. 5. Close the stopper and fill the sink, cleaning the Zip-It while filling the sink. 6. Drain the sink to flush the drain. The only "trick" is the be patient while removing the Zip-It as the barbs will catch on and edges inside the drain. Just wiggle it while removing it - you do not need to muscle out, just wiggle it out.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by SlowDrainNoMore Awesome solution!
Since my apartment maintenance department works even slower than my clogged drain, I decided to try this inexpensive option, and so glad I did! For about $2.50, this was a very effective tool for unclogging my very, very slow shower drain! Going through the drain didn't work though. I had to take out the tub/shower stopper and go through that drain access to get at the clog, and WOW the amount of hair and gunk that came out was shocking!! So glad to have this low price, effective, and relatively easy option. (BTW, I know it says single use, but it can be cleaned off entirely, as long as you're careful of the teeth, so I have it waiting for when I need it again.)

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Nightworker What an amazing drain cleaner!
My son recommended that I try one of these ingenious drain cleaners. I bought one, slipped down a slow moving drain and was so amazed how much hair it "grabbed". It states that it should be used once, but since I'm very thrifty, I carefully pulled the hair from the sharp barbs and I've gotten several more uses out of it and it still works fine. Since it only costs about $2.50, you could just use it once and keep several on hand. I'm skeptical of everything, but with this amazing item, I'm a believer!

Rated 4 out of 5Â by alggt Does a good job on straight pipes
This tool may work for you if a) the clog is not too far down the sink pipe assemblage, and b) you don't have to go "around a bend" to get to it. I used it very successfully on a clogged bathroom sink. First I used a plunger to pull the clog into the "downward" part of the pipe directly below the drain hardware (I could see it with a flashlight). Then this gadget worked very well for pulling it out (yuck yuck yuck). However it is only about 18" long and the plastic is not very flexible, so I imagine if you were trying to insert it way down into the pipes and/or around an elbow or s-curve, it wouldn't work.
