The durable Cadet 5,000-Watt Garage Heater requires a NEMA #6-30 240-volt receptacle (not a standard 120 Volt outlet) to provide your garage or workshop with powerful warmth on cold days. It features 2 heat setting positions for versatility in either low or high wattages. It also offers a built-in fan-only switch that provides comfortable air circulation without producing heat during the summer months. Ideal for warming garages and workshops, with rugged construction.

  • 6 ft. cord with polarized plug requires NEMA #6-30 240-volt receptacle - a standard 120-volt outlet will not work to power this heater
  • 5,000-watt premium utility heater at 240-volts provides warmth for large, hard-to-heat areas like garages and workshops
  • Rugged 20-gauge steel construction, with a baked-on powder-coat paint finish for long-lasting wear
  • No cold start ups; fan delay mechanism allows element to heat before blowing air and disperses residual heat after shutdown
  • Built-in fan-only switch provides comfortable air circulation without heat
  • 2-pole thermostatic control offers positive off position
  • High-temperature safety feature turns heater off if normal operating temperature is exceeded
  • Factory equipped with a bracket for either wall mount or floor stand use
  • 20-gauge steel construction with a baked-on powder-coat paint finish for long-lasting wear

CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 28 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent heater. Fast startup, quiet and great blower. This heater is well worth the money. I tried a much cheaper model and the fan wouldn't even turn. This heater will put out some heat. I have a 24 x 24 fully insulated garage and it can take it from 40 to 60 in no time and keep it there. The thermostat and high/low settings are very nice. It runs quiet enough, much quieter than a torpedo style. You can still hold a conversation or watch TV. The sides and back are cool to the touch. I installed mine on an older style TV swivel so I can direct the heat in almost any direction. I also run a ceiling fan as my garage ceiling is around 12 foot high. January 28, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent heater I installed this heater in my cabin just to keep the temperature above 55 degrees when I'm not there . Even when the temperature got down to 10 degrees outside, it held at 55. The cabin is about 588 sq. feet. I was worried it would be running alot when the temp. did get low and it didn't. Maybe on for 5 minutes and off for 15. Installing the 220 line only took about 3 hours. Great little heater !! February 10, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great heater for the garage Had a 240 outlet installed in the garage and hooked up this heater. This automatic mode works great, just set and forget. The heater is a great value when on sale for 30% off at homedepot.com. Comes with a 5 year warranty and is made in the USA. December 29, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Cut the Chill The heater does a great job of cutting into the cold in a three car garage and makes my work shop a comfortable place to work. As a bonus it takes the dampness out of the Pacific Northwest winter air. I chose this brand based on the recommendation made by my electrician. I did not do the 240 wiring but mounting the unit on the wall was simple. The unit housing is sturdy, simple to operate and quiet. Wall mounted, the airflow can be directed vertically through a wide range but the horizontal is fixed by the mounting rack. This has not been a concern but I thought it worth mentioning as it will affect the mounting location decision. February 4, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Aside from a few quality control issues unit worked well Needed supplemental heat in a shower / soaking tub room built entirely on a outside wall [not too smart]. The fan wouldn't turn on the first heater I purchased. Shaft was bent, so I returned it. Second heater had a signicant vibration. Problem was the fan blade that had been painted by what looked to be a dipping process. The painting was so uneven it thru the blade out of balance. Not sure why they painted blade, but I stripped the paint off and have now enjoyed the heater for over 7 years. September 20, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by As Good As Advertized I have a 24x36, 3-car garage with 11 ft ceiling. I recently insulated the ceiling with R-38 insulation and used R-19 in the walls. The garage doors have "double-bubble" insulation applied at the door ribs, which gives about two inches of air gap. My garage windows are double-pane, Low-e, vinyl-framed. So, the garage is well insulated. The Cadet Heater only had to run for about thirty minutes to get the temperature from around 30*F to the low 50*F range. I had to have a 240V/30Amp plug installed, but it wasn't a big deal because I have a panel in my garage. It might be a bit more difficult for an area that doesn't have easy access to a panel. The heater draws a little too much to just "convert" a 12 gauge wire to a usable outlet. The heater is a 20.8 amp unit, so it is right on the border of jumping up to a 10 gauge wire. I installed a #8 wire just in case I ever wanted to convert the plug to 50 amp. The unit is pretty heavy, so I added blocking between two studs. I also used three 3/16" screws to hold the unit up. Don't just hang the unit using drywall anchors. February 10, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works for my garage / shop I have a well insulated 3 stall garage in Michigan. I use this heater to raise the temp just enough to make it comfortable to work there (40-45). This heater gets it done. February 10, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by GREAT HEATER I bought this to heat a 30x30 garage. So far I have run the heater on a low setting while it was in the low 30s outside, and it did a great job heating the garage so that only a t-shirt was required to work inside. I'm very pleased with it's performance so far. November 20, 2014
