Customer Questions & Answers

Can this unit be mounted in the ceiling?

Can this unit be mounted in the ceiling?
Asked by: Sparky
Yes it can because I mounted mine in the ceiling at first but changed to the wall because as you know heat rises so the fan isn't powerful enough to blow the heat down. I wouldn't recommend it because it just doesn't work well

Asked by: Pakman
I'd say 150 square feet is about max.

does this unit have an off/on switch?

i do not need it to keep a constant temperature as house is shut down in winter
Asked by: Anonymous
No, just a thermostat. When turned fully counterclockwise, the heater stays off. The specification says that the minimum temperature setting is 45F, so if the room gets to that temperature, then the heater would come on.

can this heater be installed in insulated wall of bathroom

Asked by: Anonymous
Yes, it could. The wall insulation behind it would have to be removed or highly compressed to allow it to fit. This would cause the metal box to conduct cold into the room from the exterior wall and would defeat the intent of the heater to some degree. I would place the heater on an interior wall instead.

Com-Pak 1,000-Watt 120-Volt Fan-Forced In-Wall Electric Heater in White is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 35.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exceeded My Expectations This heater blew enough heat, to warm a 80sq ft bathroom in 15 minutes. This heater is much safer than the older coiled heater, and has a built-in fan

Installed this thinking it warm up my basement bathroom (65 square feet) in the winter but just didn't do a good enough job. One good thing to mention is that it is very quiet. I would recommend this for a small bathroom that is insulated

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works as expected I have had the heater fan installed for a couple weeks now. I mounted the unit in a small bathroom where our shower is and have used it on several frosty mornings. It helps make showering more enjoyable, I don't mind having the rest of the house relatively cool when I can keep the bathroom nice and warm. Installation was strait forward, no issues. Because of my small bathroom space I mounted it high on the wall so there would be no obstructions, I think this would do better if it was lower on the wall as recommended though it works fine. They recommend adding a circuit for this and that has proved unnecessary, I didn't add a circuit and I haven't had any problems.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very good unit I have had a unit quite similar to this model for about 15 years. I live in a mountainous area subject to extended cold once fall arrives until early May. My wall heater has been very reliable as I used it to supplement the heat in our den which lacks direct access to my stove. It finally gave out last spring and will need to be replaced. I will use a comparable model of the same make for my replacement. I would not hesitate to recommend this unit to anyone. It is durable, efficient, quiet, and inexpensive, both to operate, and in my case, to replace. Very good product!
