Customer Questions & Answers

Does this opener have a setting that lets you push a button and leave and then the door closes.

My current door opener lets me push a delay button. It starts to beep and allows you to walk out and then when it beeps rapidly it closes. Does this door do this or do you have one that does?
Asked by: wrider10
Yes, there is a delay function. It will automatically close after the time you set expires....great for those who forget to close the door on their way out

Can the light be turned on and left on like a light switch or will it automatically turn off after a set period of time?

Asked by: David
It functions both ways. But the motion sensor feature may interfere with the gateway.

We have a 3 car garage, How many garage door openers will be needed 1 or 2?

Asked by: cstreet
Hello cstreet, and thank you for your question. For clarity, we'll refer to the machine that physically raises and lowers your door as a garage door opener, and we will refer to the device you keep in your vehicle as a remote control. Each door requires it's own garage door opener, but you can use up to 12 remote controls for each garage door opener.

If the keypad is removed from the outside wall (by an unauthorized person) does that disable the opener?

My security advisor wanted me to be sure that if a burglar removes the keypad from the outside that they are still unable to open the door. Please advise
Asked by: flowergirl
no. the keypad is wireless. you will have to reset the code on the motor itself if you want to install a new one.

Whisper Drive 3/4 HP Garage Door Opener with MyQ Technology and Battery Backup is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 163.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Opener You will never know how convenient it is to have an Opener until your old non Chamberlain model breaks down and you have to do everything by hand. I bought this 3/4 unit with all the upgrades, installed it my self in 2 hours and boy o boy is this thing amazing! Super quite only noise is the door! And all the programming is so simple a 10 year old would have no problems. I even can control the door away from my home if need be! I cannot tell you how happy I am with my purchase, I look forward to buying some light switches so I can control lights away from home also using the same Chamberlain APP! -George

Rated 5 out of 5 by from By far the easiest universal remote to program I have an old Genie Pro 98 screw drive door opener, and for some reason when my garage opener needed to be replaced (company who repaired my garage door used a New England Door external receiver), I had difficulty finding a universal remote that would work until I purchased this product. I followed the instructions on the Chamberlain web site and literally within 10 minutes my garage opened! What took me most of a day trying to program other remotes that I thought were universal (I had to use the dip switch method for programming) this remote worked... Thank you Chamberlain! Sincerely, Kevin

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Product no longer available I love this product as far as it goes, BUT they could have done so much more. The lights are nice but not necessary, the extension cord aspect is great (could use two plug receptacles) the ability to have a compressor is really nice but the pressure gauge I found was not real accurate. Two things (this would raise the price) that would be nice is: 1) add a vacuum to the unit with a long hose to vacuum autos with. 2) It would be nice as long as it has a compressor to have the ability to have an attachment to spray air. Nice feature when washing a car to blow out the various seams in the car.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Battery Backup Not Worth It I purchased this opener back in 2009 (my version did not have the smart phone capability). It has worked really well except for one big flaw. The battery used for the battery back-up only lasts a few years. Then the opener is programmed like a smoke alarm would be to continually sound until you change the battery. I'm sorry, but that is not necessary at all! Not having a functioning battery back-up is not on the level of a smoke alarm not working, and is beyond annoying. Plus the battery used is not something you can run to just any store and pick up. It uses a special battery and the special battery is much more expensive than a typical battery. On top of this, in the 7 years I have had the opener, I have had to open the garage door while the power was out a total of zero times. My advice, skip on the battery backup - not worth it. The opener it self is a good product minus this feature.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Only Programs For One Door I have two garage doors with Liftmaster openers. My former Liftmaster wireless keypad could be programmed with a different code for each door. As previous reviewers have noted, this Universal remote will only run one door - and that isn't clearly explained on the box. My Liftmaster openers have brown Learn buttons. This isn't shown as an option on the instructions. I figured it was a "Code 3" based on the Date of Manufacturer sticker on the opener. I agree with other reviewers that the instructions need an overhaul. Anyways, I got my one door to program without much fuss. I do like the brightness of the remote display at night. I think that bottom button should be labelled as "Enter" instead of "0". Overall, the unit works but isn't very intuitive.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid for two years and counting This garage door opener has served me well for two years now and counting. It was a bit of a pain to install since I had to do it by myself, but overall it went Ok. This thing is indeed very quiet. The door goes up quickly, and considering we have an over-sized garaged door, that is impressive. The battery back-up has saved us a few times. We live in an older neighborhood with a lot of old trees. When there is any heavy wet snow or ice we tend to lose power for an hour or so each time. We have no worries about getting in or out. The battery seems to have lost a bit of its capacity, but that is expected over time. Overall this is a great opener!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very quiet. Easy to assemble Bought the same unit but model number HD750WFC for Canada I guess. It was easy to assemble in a few hours including dismantle of old opener. If you are looking to save time and you are replacing an old opener (I had a craftsman chain drive) the rail is identical. Just need to swap out the wheel at the door end for the belt drive. Old supports from the ceiling work just fine as do the arm linkage on the door itself. My only issue is that I would like it to be compatible with a simple switch to open/close the door at the entrance like my old craftsman. The wireless pin code on the outside does allow you to close the door by pushing the "enter" button. Also the push clips for inserting the controller and safety eyes are weak. Be careful not to push too hard or often.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It works first time out! Usually I have to make "adjustments" when adding any of these universal remotes but this one worked perfectly right out of the box. I selected the correct model for my opener, input the pin, the unit number, hit the garage "learn" button and waited for the lights to go out. Typed in the PIN code for my "new" opener and the door moved right along. First try!! It is important to remember that the "zero" button also doubles as the "Enter" button when needed.
