We had an old metal stand that did not hold a lot of water, so we were constantly watering our trees. I wanted something deeper and easier to adjust. This tree stand works great. A few things to be aware of - the well is deep so you need to make sure that your trunk is at least 7 inches from the lowest branch. If you are setting this on a smooth surface (we have hardwood floors) you'll want to put something underneath it to keep it from sliding - we used an old towel. Set up was really easy, and making adjustments took only a minute.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product, Works as Advertised Had my doubts about this being a true "2 minute setup" tree stand. However, once I got it put together it was a breeze to get the tree centered and locked into place. The ratcheting bolts are great since they eliminate the extra turning of screws. Just push them in until they make a snug contact with the tree and then screw tighten them as needed. 4 sturdy plastic spikes in the center of the stand help to hold the tree centered and in place. One person can actually place a 6'-8' tree inside this stand and have it locked down in two minutes as advertised. I'm definitely sold on this product and it's money well spent!

I thought plastic might not be so rugged but it is really solid. The quick-adjust fasteners make setup fast. The stand has three holes around the perimeter that I used to attach the stand to a larger platform. Although it is large enough for a tree under normal conditions, this makes the whole thing super sturdy in case our cats decide to jump onto the tree. My only complaint would be that it doesn't hold a lot of water. With the large trunk tree I had taking up so much volume, it only held about a gallon and I had to refill twice a day while the tree was fresh and drinking a lot.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Tree stayed standing This tree stand kept the tree standing until we took it down. Extra points for the wide base and deep water reservoir. Side note and totally preventable, the "pockets" around the base can house pine needles. Our reservoir overflowed a couple of times thanks to generous children and adventurous tree skirts. The moisture went un detected in the small pockets of pine needles leading to a mysterious stench towards the end of Christmas. This is not a reflection on the product but just a precautionary tale to the owner. keep the pine needles vacuumed out of the base pockets and the water should evaporate in case of overflow.

I got it for a 5 1/2 ft tree because of two things. First, I put the tree on a big wooden chest about 1 1/2 wide (so not very wide) and 2 ft high . Plus, I have a cat. This stand is solid and heavy. My smaller tree is held up really well in this stand. The tree looks like it is 7 1/2 ft in this situation and it is beautiful! Of course any tree CAN be tipped over, but this stand has made it very unlikely. The cat likes the tree. No, really! He likes to sleep under it! It is all working just great! Wonderful solution!!! fin

First time we got a real tree and we bought this stand instead of a metal stand based on the positive reviews. We got a 7 ft. tree with a trunk of 4 in. which is within the recommendation for this type of stand. Within 3 hours of having the tree up, it fell over. I followed the directions which are as simple as all can be and there is something that should be added to the directions. You should place your tree on the ground and then put the stand on it and hit the bottom of the stand with a hammer to get those spikes into the tree to hold it better in place, then use those screws to tighten it. otherwise the tree is just sitting on top of those spikes. NOT impressed with this stand.
