can you use command on cinder block outdoors, Outdoors is the key issue ??????

Asked by: jonmac39
We have a line of outdoor products which you can identify on the upper left-hand corner of each package. As far as cinder block goes, it would have to be sealed/painted in order to adhere properly. If you would like to discuss your options you can also contact our customer service team directly at 1-800-934-7355 M-F 7am to 6pm CT. Thanks for asking!

Would these strips work on a painted metal surface?

Asked by: Lynn
Absolutely! Just follow the surface preparation instructions and weight limits. Painted metal and other smooth sealed surfaces are ideal for our products.

Will these work to hang stuff on a brick fireplace (where I can't use a nail)?

Asked by: Jk
If the brick is painted or sealed our products will work. Unfortunately brick that has not been painted or sealed is too porous for our products to last long-term. We also suggest avoiding product placement over large grout lines. Thanks for asking!

Customer Reviews

Picture Hanging Solution Kit is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 1404.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not happy with results I bought these and they seemed to be okay for a few months. One picture frame came down in the summer and I thought it might have been due to the heat and humidity, but it is now November and another frame has now ended up on the floor. I am obviously not happy with the results.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Failed product I used these to hang up a few things in my dorm. I hanged up a frame of pictures and it seemed to stick well so I went to class. When I returned the frame was on the floor with a broken tab; and on the way down it knocked down and broke another frame and landed on some tea lights shattering the base of them. Overall three damaged products two of which are going to have to be tossed., I'm very disappointed and will go back to thumbtacks.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from DAMAGED MY WALLS! WOULD GIVE ZERO STARS! This was the first time I used the Command Strips on painted walls and will NEVER do it again! The alcohol prep (which is the only method prescribed to prepare the walls) dulled and removed the paint off my walls. There should be a warning to try this technique first; the only warning is not to use on freshly painted walls, but my walls were painted over two years ago.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Perfect solution for picture wall. I've used command strips to hang my picture wall in 3 homes over the years. I can quickly take down a picture to change photos. When I painted the wall, there was no damage to repair, and I easy just had to add the wall side to the pictures with the strips still attached to rehang. Something in moving. Worth it. Rated 5 out of 5 by from nursing home safe We needed something we could use in my clients room to hang her pictures! she lived in a nursing home and we couldnt leave and marks on the wall. These strips were perfect to use. when she passed away all we had to do was pull on the bottom and they came right off the wall without leaving any nail holes in the wall.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from High Risk My wife got these strips to hold a few small pictures for us, which belonged to my grandmother. Seemed like a really good idea, especially given all the good reviews I had heard. The strips held pretty well for a few months. Then one day I came home from work, and there was the frame, laying on the floor with one of the metal supports broken out of it. Thankfully, the glass was not broken, but the frame was damaged. I don't think I can really recommend something that will expose your things to risk and potential damage. Very dissatisfied.
