You can definitely buy replacement line in-store at your local Home Depot.
Just look for .155 line at the store, the neon yellow Rino Line even has a built-in line cutter. its great and cheap and a lil stronger than the factory line.

Hello Silverdollar84,
You can buy replacement string at Home Depot in store and online.
I buy mine in store. It's not very expensive and can be replaced easily. No tools needed, no spooling needed like a regular smaller trimmer. It simply wraps and locks into place on the hub.
I have pictures and video on my review that show where and how the string is attached.

DO Not put oil in the gas. The machine is a 4 cyl. and can run on straight gas. The oil is like in
a conventional engine and is separate. Check it often and use the right type. 30 weight, 4 cycl oil.

No, you don't have to mix oil and gas as this uses a 4 cycle engine. Only 2 Cycle engines require mixed gasoline. You do have to add oil to the crankcase however, which is included in the box. This unit uses a lawnmower engine, so it is very powerful.

The short answer is: I don't know. My opinion is:
Going straight up a hill, you must push down on the handlebar to tilt the nose up and still push the machine up the hill at the same time. That's awkward.

Answer:
The engine can take a tilt of 90 degrees momentarily if required, though it is not recommended because the oil can get into the upper part of the engine and back flow to the carburetor making it hard to start. The 15 degree recommendation is for safety as it can be hard to handle the weight of the trimmer, and on an incline it is harder to keep your footing.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Machine I had researched this machine and decided it was a good fit for cutting a large high weed field. Started up easily as stated. Appears well made. Cuts high grass and weeds easily, even some small saplings. Does not need string replaced much. One bizarre problem was that after a short time initially, the engine ran erratically and was stalling out and hard to re-start. Thinking maybe the gas could be the problem, I dumped it out. The gas tank had several roaches dead in it and was clogging the gas flow. Had to be there from when the tank was empty and no cap. Only con is that with no self-propelled mechanism, it can be a little difficult to manipulate. August 29, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Product is a beast! Set up was beyond easy, adjust the handle, set the pull cord, add oil, add gas. Didn't even need to adjust trimmer height. 1st pull started right up. I own a straight shaft, steel blade trimmer I usually use on this (not my yard), but I get covered in mud and grass, exhausted and poison ivy. The Cub Cadet just blasted through this stuff. The big wheels helped move over the mud dobbers easier. Pay attention to the incline directions cause it will tip. Only had to replace lines twice, and that was user error cause I tried trimming rocks, not recommended. Glad I made the purchase! June 7, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Cub Cadet ST100 $329 I was considering the DR Trimmer @ $399 but after chatting with their support i still couldn't decide if their entry level 675 model would be enough for my yard. They couldn't convince me. After selling some items on Criagslist I had $230 cash in my pocket and the banks were already closed so I decided to take a chance on the similarly spec'd Cub Cadet. Worst case i could take it back and they could put the money on my card. After spending an hour with it i feel confident that the Cub Cadet was the right choice for a 2 year neglected back yard. It is really the best option for an overgrown yard. My weed wacker wouldnt make a dent in it. This thing goes through the weeds and growth like butter. June 11, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by It's a beast! (with the right string) We bought this trimmer to clear grasses and brush in the rough and wooded terrain around our house. We were initially disappointed because, while it cleared the grasses easily, the string (which came with the product) wrapped around and broke on the berry stalks and small saplings that were everywhere. We had to snip these all by hand, which made the trimmer almost worthless to us. Then my husband found a heavy duty string at our local rental shop and decided to try it with our trimmer. It was amazing! The machine was able to rip through rough brush with alder saplings without breaking once. I am a 67 year old woman, and i was able to maneuver the trimmer over rotting logs, and other small obstacles. I was able to clear vegetation to bare dirt level which will help tremendously with fire mitigation. This trimmer has now become our most important landscaping tool. The string we used is Diamond Edge brand 0.155 inch diameter. June 11, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Awesome Trimmer All in all very happy with unit. Only con I have is the way to change oil. I added a drain hose to make changing oil easier and a lot cleaner. Love how it starts with one pull every time. May 26, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Awesome equipment I just bought a house that has been sitting empty for 8 yrs. The house was completely redone however the yard was not. I cannot use a lawn mower because there are so many stumps and vines that would destory the blades. I tried a regular weed eater but thats a lot of work. I was skeptical about a push weed trimmer but this thing is a beast! I'm a single woman, 5'2" and I had no problem getting it out of the box, following the couple instructions to getting it put together and getting it going. The back yard is almost done and I am sure my new neighbors will be happy once I finish the front yard I would highly recommend this! And it was delivered a week and a half earlier than accepted. I am a happy girl!! August 21, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great machine Purchased to clear high underbrush on about 1/2 acre of land. This machine cut through grass and brush that was generally around 4 feet high with out any failures. One pull start on virtually every time. Used a lot of string but considering the height of the grass and hidden stumps it was not a disappointment. I used it also to clear out the edges of a creek and it did so flawlessly. I would and have recommended this machine to others. September 6, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by This machine is a little beast!! Bought this a couple of days ago and its awesome! ! Let the machine do the work and take your time it cut way more than you would think. The only reason we didn't give it 5 stars is because its still new and we're giving it time to be fair. May 3, 2016
