Doesn't dried up?

This product remains pink and is taking a long time to dry. It has already been 2 days after application and does not change to white or harden.
Asked by: tony
That's not right maybe you got a bad bucket of it. When I have used it I haven't had any problems, it turns from pink to white and dries in about an hour for me. Take it back and get a different bucket.

I have broken more fingernails (at $25 a manicure) trying to open the spackle container. Is there any way your team of highly educated packaging engineers could come up with an easier way to open the container?

If used to fill cracks or holes, then sand the area, can you tell after painting where this spackling has been used?

Just bought a home and will be using this to fill cracks and holes. We plan to buy a paint that has primer in it, and was going to go with a lighter color.
Asked by: Nicole
NOT IF YOU SAND CORRECTLY LIKE ANY SPACKLE IF LEFT ALL CLUMPED UP AND ABOVE THE PAINTS SURFACE YOU WOULD BE ABLE TO TELL BUT IF SPACKLED AND SANDED CORRECTLY THAN NO YOU WILL NOT SEE THE SPACKLE YOUR SUPPOSED TO SAND DOWN TO THE SURROUNDING WALL SO THAT NOTHING IS A TELL THE SPACKLE IF DRIED COMPLETELY I WOULD WAIT 24 HOURS BEFORE SANDING SHOULD STAY IN THE CRACKS AND HOLES AFTER YOU SANDED MULTIPLE PATCHING AND SANDING MAY BE REQUIRED DEPENDING HOW MUCH SPACKLE YOUR USING AND HOW BIG THE HOLE IS.

1 pt. DryDex Spackling with Dry Time Indicator is rated 3.4 out of 5 by 29.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from There is better Best to avoid this product. When dry, it will not hold together. Wet it with a little paint and it will dissolve again into mud. Paint it a second time and the paint will bubble and peel. There is nothing that can't be made a little worse and a little cheaper.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from causes paint to peel. I used this to fill a number of small holes in my wall. You can tell exactly where the spackle is because that's where the new layer of paint is cracking. I even waited a day for it to dry. This stuff is junk.

I have used dex to finish my fire place. I need to trim and repaint. I have to admit the project wasn't finished and a lot of living happened in the mean time I am currently stripping out carpet painting and doing a whole remodel I will gladly submit the finished project.

Worst product (spackle) I've ever used I've redone the same spot 4 times and 4 times the paint peeled and cracked. Been using different Dap products for 40 years. Due to this experience I'm done with Dap products. If you like to repeatedly get frustrated use this product. Terrible, Terrible, Terrible.

Now only does it crack, It didn't even hold after two days. It was still like puddy and I was able to just scrap it off the wall with no effort Better off using all purpose joint compound.

When you first take it out of the container it has a gelatinous consistency. It has excellent spreadibility and is very smooth. It dries hard in 24 hours. It seems harder than typical joint compound. Doesn't sand easily, had to use course abrasive and some elbow grease. It behaves more like plastic autobody filler than joint compound. Haven't tried to paint it yet and am concerned considering some of the other reviews.

For me to go online to write a review, something has to be really good or really bad. This stuff is the worst spackling compound I've ever used. It took forever to "cure" and even when it did it seemed flaky and didn't sand properly. I would avoid this at all cost. Use the conventional types as this "goes on pink" seems to have a different consistency. DON'T GET THIS TYPE!

I just had a small area to fill and this worked great for me. It's easy to spread. Let it sit till it turns white and then sand and paint.
