This Saw is bad to the bone, just on 1.5 amp battery I cut a 12 foot, 1/4 inch thick 4 inch in diameter Street Sign pole that was put in my Moms front yard in the 50s in less than a minute, this thing weighs over 60 pounds, after that I cut down half of a Grapefruit tree that was about 6 inches in diameter and trimmed all of that down before the battery went dead, The adjustable guard as well as the 4 position assemble for the Blade is very handy. Nice saw!!

I've been in construction 35 years, and these 20V tools work much better than any 18V tools I've used in the past. The batteries last longer, and the tool is strong right up until the end of the battery cycle. Multiple speed settings plus the variable trigger help out in tough situations.
The only draw backs was the sawsall was not available in the store by itself. Only if you bought it in a group deal, like homeowners buy, and the sawsall is heavier than a corded unit. But I'll trade off the extra weight for the option of carrying this anywhere on the site without worring about dragging out the long extension cords.

This is an awesome tool. We are using this in place of a chain saw to cut the smaller trees that have fallen down on your property. Have also used it to trim other trees that have overgrown. We are in the process of remodeling another house and it has come in handy for cutting wood even though we have other larger saws. One of the best tools I have ever purchased. I would even feel comfortable using this myself (female), whereas I would never use a chainsaw.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Jack Good saw, drains battery
The 20volt Dewalt Reciprocating saw is as good as any of it's type that I have used. One nice feature is the four different positions in which you can position the blade; Up, Down, Left, Right. It makes this inaccurate, workhorse type of saw a little more versatile and easier to get into some difficult positions/angles. It does eat the battery fairly quickly. It is pretty ergonomically comfortable, but a little heavy. That might be a good thing.

As my old NiCad batteries are dying, instead of buying old technology replacements, I have been upgrading to 20 V Li-Ion tools. As a home builder I had high expectations for this saw and DeWalt has come through with another winner. The saw is well built and rugged; mine has been dropped 6 to 8 feet a few times with no damage. It has plenty of power to cut through thick materials and with a 4.0 ah battery I get several days of intermittent use on a charge.

Great tool as all my Dewalts are I use this saw for all handyman jobs . The 4 position blade head makes it nice when I have to cut in corners .
