Product Overview

DRIcore is the first and most important step towards creating a new living space as warm and comfortable as any other space in your home. DRIcore is the one-step engineered sub floor solution that is specifically designed for basements. The raised moisture barrier covers cold, damp concrete to protect, insulate and cushion your finished floors. Concrete continually releases moisture. DRIcore sub floor panels have been designed with air gap technology to keep basement floors dry, comfortable and cozy throughout the entire year. The air gap encourages constant air flow and evaporation of surface moisture emitted from your basement concrete floor. You will be warm and dry in your new basement space with finished floors that are up to 3.2C warmer. DRIcore sub floor ensures a healthy environment for you and your family by limiting moisture that can lead to mold. DRIcore sub floor panels are strong enough to take up to 4,000 lbs. per sq. ft. That means you can have a fantastic recreation room for the kids, home gym, games room or perhaps the home theatre of your dreams. Add your favorites finished floor think carpet, laminate, engineered hardwood, tile or vinyl.

How many squares would I need to cover 252 sq feet?

126 sq. Feet

can I paint or stain this product?

Asked by: JL
Yes you can but this product is too rough to use as a floor by itself. It needs a regular flooring on top, like carpet or laminate, etc

Do I need to level the floor before installating? I removed the vinyl tile flooring but there's mastic still on the floor. Is this OK?

Asked by: NorthgateRoad
I don't think mastic would be a problem but if the floor has major dips that could pose a problem. I had a typical concrete slab basement. Pretty level but not perfect. Dricore sells a plastic shim but I just used regular generic shims in areas where the floor dips.

Can you cut this with chop saw or circular saw is a better choice?

Asked by: Sonny
Each section is 24 inches square, so use of a chop saw would likely be cumbersome at best. A table saw or circular saw would almost certainly be easier unless you have a large chop saw with a very long sliding arm.

7/8 in. x 2 ft. x 2 ft. DRIcore Subfloor Panel is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 94.

We used DRIcore in two rooms of a basement finishing project where we wanted to install laminate flooring: a kitchen and a bathroom. The concrete was relatively flat in both rooms, but there were cracks, so the shims are absolute musts to minimize any discernible give when walking on it. It could hardly have been easier to install. Results look excellent. After 2 months of continuous use, the floor remains quiet, with no squeaking nor apparent movement. I would recommend this for any concrete floor needing a laminate or carpet overlay.

Light enough for one person to handle, cuts easy with normal woodworking tools, leveled out a bad concrete floor very well, and seems to make the room warmer. Just watch your measurements with the tongue and groove system.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What a Great Product Great sub-floor for basements. We did a large basement bathroom and now its cozy, warm and we have a beautiful floor on top of our DriCore sub-floor. No better product for the money. Highly recommended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Watch those measurements!!! Be careful calculating your quantity to purchase - although advertised as 2 Ft X 2 Ft, these excellent units are only 22-1/2 inches square, and then you lose 1/4 inch for the T&G, so you get only 22-1/4 inch actual coverage. This gives 495 sq in coverage per tile, not the 576 you would expect with a 2 Ft sizing. Calculate quantity accordingly because this is a full 14% difference. A floor that would need 80 tiles at 2 Ft X 2 Ft will actually need 91 of these tiles. If you are wondering about this actually being metric, forget it - the coverage is 56.5 cm on a side, so not much easier to calculate that way either. Still - a really god product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dricore subfloor This product really made it easy to install a subfloor in our basement. These are super easy to work with and cut. Be careful when picking them out so that the tongue and grooves haven't been damaged. Would definitely use again!
