I have misplaced my directions on the timer and have been fighting with this for a week. How exactly do you set the timer if I want it to come on at 4am until 8am? Are all the buttons up and I push down every button between 4-8 on the blue side?
Asked by: Bobbi
Mine was defective when I bought it. yours might be as well. It never worked for me when I used it as a timer. It did work if I put it to outlet on, but timer does not function to turn on and off automatically.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works perfectly Wish the directions were a little bit more clear. But it actually has it on the system itself. You want it on then the buttons are down. But make sure you pull up all the buttons when you first start.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Needs instructions!! In order for it to work, one needs to know HOW to set it; instructions on how to operate are needed. I finally figured it out by reading the reviews here (tabs down for on, up for off); I was about to return them because the first night I tried it; it didn't work (I had the tabs reversed). I'll see if it works tonight but, it looks like it did since I plugged it in and the light didn't go on meaning, the timer is likely working. Would have given it a 5 review and excellent value otherwise....

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor Instructions The instructions for this are completely incomprehensible. I was ready to return three of these and learned by reading reviews of other timers at a competitor's website that all the tabs need to be up for when the lamp is to be off and all down for the times it is to be on. I was setting one tab up for on and one up for off with all the rest down, and it didn't work. Now that I have it figured out, I may keep them if they work OK because this was the least expensive in the store.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from All timers are not the same The Price is Right. However when I opened the instructions, it correctly stated that when the tabs are pushed down, the timer is set to go "ON". additional tabs pushed down will determine the duration of the time for the item to be kept on. "THE BIGGEST CONFUSSION IS", "When the item was purchased, all of the tabs are pushed down. They should all be pulled up before it is packaged." Or the instructions should start with a first step of "pulling all tabs up before your start." The Packager's and the writer for the instructions need to be on the same page. 2.) The arrow on the big Button in the middle of the timer should be identified and colored better. It should have a picture on the instruction paper. This would make it a lot easier for most of us. Things to remember, We live in a "PLUG AND PLAY" world. Instructions only confuse us.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Timer does what it is suppose to do. One thing I found annoying is that if you switch from timer... Timer does what it is suppose to do. One thing I found annoying is that if you switch from timer to manual, the timer will stay on manual so the lights will never go out. I use this for Christmas tree lights and sometimes turn the tree on manually. If I forget to switch the timer back to the timer setting, the tree will stay lit. I have other timers that simply turn the lights on without removing the timer connection.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from No Instructions Mine came with no instructions whatsoever. I had to read the reviews here to even find out how it works. I will find out at 4 PM today IF it works. Flipping up the pins is difficult. Pay a bit more and get something of quality.
