Answer:
Yes, the stem portion of the leaves make a milky sap that is poisonous....but I have a kitten and he nibbled at a few leaves, never chewed the sappy stem and he is fine! Curious cats may initially bother because the plant grows so tall.

Hello,
Yes, the sap can be toxic to both cats and dogs if they chew on it or ingest it. The sap may also cause skin irritation.

Answer:
Any Rubber Tree plant simply LOVES to be outdoors during the summer! Do NOT place your plant in direct, hot sun, however. It loves bright light and the outdoor humidity. It will absolutely flourish outdoors during the summer!

Answer:
Yes. I am in Houston Texas and mine is outdoors in a very shady patio area. I water it twice a week since it is outdoors and very hot right now. I will bring it when the temp drops, but I still have a long time before that occurs here in zone 9!

Hi Minna.
Thank you for your question.

Please let us know if we can be of further assistance.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Beautiful, healthy house plant! This beautiful Burgundy Rubber Tree plant arrived very well packaged! Not one leaf had been torn off. It was easily unpacked, and was in perfect condition! Amazing! I followed the instructions carefully, and it is thriving in a northeast window. I am very happy that I purchased this house plant from Home Depot! I highly recommend buying this easy care plant to anyone! Thank you! March 22, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Beautiful and healthy and strong This plant was one of five delivered on an exceptionally cold day. It has survived and thrived. I would definitely order this plant again February 27, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by worst purchase ever barely alive when it arrived. hopefully a little attention might save it February 10, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Oh my goodness! This plant is spectacular! Healthy, 3 feet tall and in the process of sprouting several new leaves. Hands out to the growers and a big thank you to my boyfriend for giving it to me. January 22, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Healthy plant with lots of growth nodes!! This plant was well-packaged and arrived very healthy, about a week after I ordered it. It is about 2' or 2.5' tall, and is very bushy. The color of the leaves is beautiful, with a dark green/reddish hue. Whoever grew this from the beginning knew what they were doing, because rubber trees can grow to be very tall and spindly, but with some training they can become a lot more bushy, like the one I received. I've counted at least 7 different apical nodes. Overall, a great value for this plant! May 17, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Greatly disappointed I ordered this (and other plants) after reading the reviews of others. It came in looking diseased (spots on leaves -- very unhealthy looking)... I repotted it, cleaned the leaves, gave it love and adequate light and water. A week later it is no better and is losing leaves. Out of five plants I ordered, only one is thriving. Will not order again. I dont know if the fault lies with the shipper or not, but consider this entire order a waste of money. February 5, 2014
