Answer:
I still haven't been able to find a "right size" planter.. Mine came in a 9" tall & 9 1/2" wide pot. and I've looked everywhere for a planter to fit it. I wish Home Depot would offer the lighter weight (I think fiberglass) pots that would fit this plant. That would be ideal! Sorry I can't help you more.

Answer:
I would say at least 11" to 12" as the pot it comes in is 9" and it should be at least 2" bigger.

Answer:
Hello,
Replant or up pot the 9 1/4 in. Cat palm into a 12" diameter container. It should be approximately 12" deep as well. Typically when up potting its best to go to next container size up such as a 10" to 12" etc. Use a good quality potting media that is formulated for palms or foliage plants.
Thank you,
Delray Plant Co.

Answer:
Hello,
The 9.25" refers to the diameter of the grow pot. The actual palm arrives at about 4 and a half feet tall.

I am kind of a rookie at indoor planting. I have lost 2 of these plants within a 8 month period. The roots were developing a white mold and thought I was overwatering. I was watering with the initial plastic 9 inch W X 8inch depth pot every 3 days or so. I keep this plant indoors near a window with partial sunlight. any help would be appreciated. thank you

The palm should be fine in the original grow pot for the first 6 to 12 months. When it starts to become root bound it can be uppoted to a 12” container. Choose a good quality potting media that is formulated for foliage or house plants.
The white mold is a sign of over watering so allow the soil to moderately dry down in between waterings. How often to water depends on the environmental conditions but likely every 7 to 10 days. Be sure to check the top and bottom 2” of the pot for soil moisture beforehand. The top may be dry but you can still have over saturation at the base of the container. Roots need to breath somewhat so to speak. Avoid any standing water such as in a saucer or if place in another decorative container. Having stated that also avoid wide swings in soil moisture and an over drying of the soil as well.
Good luck and Happy Growing!

Answer:
Yes the Cataractarum will grow just fine in a shady corner outdoors, however they will need some filtered light for optimal growth and appearance. Please avoid exposure to frost or freezing temperatures. Also be sure to maintain moderate ongoing soil moisture levels.

Answer:
It can grow outside in a shady place. Make sure you soak the ground for an hour or two before planting and then water when the top 2 inches of soil is dry. They need lots of water. so check it often. Keep the roots moist at all times. Not soaked, sitting in water, but moist.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect Condition Ordered 3 Delray plants, Cateracterum, ficus and rubber plant. All plants were securely packaged and delivered with care and negligible soil spillage. Plants were lush, vibrant and healthy - an excellent value, in my opinion. Commendations to Delray and Home Depot. July 12, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very Nice Plant A few fronds were broken in shipping but none of them yellowed or died. I keep the palm watered and mix Miracle Gro in the water. It flourishes in a corner in front of a west facing window. Easy to care for and looks great. July 19, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Cat Pal I was surprised how well this shipped. And it was super fast. The palm was in great condition. Lush and green! I would definitely recommend the purchase to add a little life to your space. July 19, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Healthy, Beautiful plant This plant arrived with no damage whatsoever. Packaged very well. It's large, about 4 ft. tall. Healthy, nice and green. Needs lots of light, which I have lots of, not direct sunlight. A Lovey addition to my living room. You do need to buy an attractive pot to put it in. Comes in just a garden plastic pot. Has a tenancy to turn brown at the tips. Can be over watering or under watering. Hard to regulate. Beautiful though. May 19, 2016
