Thank you for your recent inquiry with The Home Depot, EEP. Several states have various codes and regulations that prohibit the transport and sale of various plants. We appreciate your business and look forward to serving you in the future. Thank you for shopping Home Depot.

I bought the pineapple plant and it is approximately five inches high and 15 inches circumference. The pineapple is a mustard color and has a pineapple fragrance already. I researched a little and pineapples take anywhere from 18-24 months to mature. My plant is only approximately 3-4 months old. Also it looks like there is another shoot coming up. Can I separate the shoot and replant both in separate planters?I'm concerned that the pot might not be big enough. Its about 15 inches deep. Should I leave it alone? Also the pineapple leans slightly and I used a stick to support it a little. Is the plant supposed to lean a little because of the weight of the pineapple?

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.0 out of 5 by 5 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Easy to grow The little pineapple that comes with the plant the first year can be cut off and if you follow the directions you find on pinterest, you can make another plant with it. These are so easy to propogate. They are fascinating to watch when you first start the crowns in water to get the roots going. Once you put them in a good potting soil and place in warm lighted area, they grow like crazy. I live in Corpus Christi and have to keep it out of direct sunlight. Because of the humidity, I don't have to water them too much outside, which is great for drought areas. Such a fun plant to use as a teaching tool. October 31, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Was hoping they were bigger Was hoping these plants were bigger. They're starters. Purchased larger plants at the Home Depot store in Sherwood Oregon and much happier. Unfortunately they did not have any this year in their store. Don't think I'll order online again unless I can obtain larger plants. August 19, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by This thing is awesome. I bought this pineapple plant as a gift for a friend, and it's incredible. I expected it to be smaller because when I saw "6inch" in its name I assumed the entire plant itself would also be kind of small, but it wasn't. Overall, it's like 2 feet ish, plus the pot that comes with it. But I think that's even better. It's great as a houseplant, and really easy to take care of. And it's so cute! and happy! My friend and I named ours Paco. I hope everyone who buys this pineapple plant can experience similar joy. March 20, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by I love this Everyone who see's my pineapple loves it. It came to my home in great shape and with a baseball sized pineapple growing on it. The packing was great and its been 4 weeks and its growing great. I'm near Boston Ma and I have it in a sunny spot . Who ever started to grow this did a grat job. I hope homedepot keeps this for sale for a long time .I'm telling all my friends about them. September 8, 2011
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Plant is nice, but needed to be re-potted Pot is cheap plastic and too small, so it had to be re-potted right away. This also did not do well unless it had a lot of sunlight. The plant itself is nice though. August 20, 2013
