Answer:
It has a button on the sprayer to put it in regular faucet mode or sprayer mode, but it doesn't have a pause mode that I'm aware of. One nice feature is that button stays in whatever mode you put it in without having to hold it down for a certain mode.

The Delta deluca comes with an optional chrome cover plate for the extra two holes. I only had one hole in my counter, so I tossed the cover plate. Installation is simple with or without the plate.

Answer:
I was replacing a painted plastic (fake brushed nickel finish) which was why I was replacing it. This one is metal except for the sprayer head (pullout part) which I believe is plastic that matches the finish of the rest of the faucet. The base, faucet neck and valve handle appear to be all metal. Mine was a brushed nickel finish.

It is not a true stainless color like other items in my kitchen. It looks closer to nickel, because it has a slight yellow tint and is brighter. It is metal with a coating (Delta calls it "Brilliance"). It is not plastic.

No reason why you would have to install the soap dispenser. We chose to because we previously had a soap dispenser and 1.) this matches the faucet & 2.) we would have had a hole in the sink deck to cover if we didn't.

Answer:
Yes, the soap dispenser is only an option. I left the soap dispenser off on mine, no problem, as I only had one hole installed in my new granite counter, and that is for the faucet. The soap dispenser is totally independent, not connected to anything, so you can leave it off all together. It simply screws from the bottom of the counter, if you have a hole for it. Otherwise, sell it on ebay.

Of course you can leave it off. It is completely separate. Depending on the holes in your sink, you may have to plug the hole with a plastic or stainless steel plug. They're under $10 bucks at HD.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Already leaking a lot around the rim after just a few months... The kitchen faucet is very nice looking but I've only had it since late April and already it is leaking all around the edges of the nozzle (aside from the regular flow...). This is upsetting after just 3 months and it has been leaking for nearly a month! I will have to replace it, get my Contractor here to run-install and re-install and pay him to do so! July 23, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by looks great a little hard to install, but looks great and works good July 12, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Gorgeous, but Functional for us It all started with a leak on an old Forte Kohler. Then boom, three parts and two trips later, I had permanently broken the thing. So then we started looking at an upgrade/replacement: we got the Deluca. It is a gorgeous marvel of design. Installation, despite my efforts, was a breeze. But we turned it on and found the height and angle to be ... Less than desired. It was splashing us and everything around the sink. And then we turned on the spray and it was a water-frenzied nightmare. But it was also funny. Unlike some pull-down's, this thing arcs a wee bit at the last second toward the sink. Our install's hole is only an inch away from the sink, so now I have to take this thing apart and return it. If you have an install that close, you might consider a different model and/or a pull-out kitchen faucet. January 18, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very Nice & elegant This product is works very well and provides a very nice look as well. July 6, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Single kitchen faucet I had the faucet installed and it is working out great. June 22, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Sleek and functional The faucet is very sleek in design and is easy to keep clean. The pull down head works easily and the push button switches from stream to spray is nice. It gives the kitchen an updated look if you can't redo the whole kitchen. I have been using for a few months and have no problems. It is a little top heavy so make sure it is firmly attached to the sink or counter. Hope it lasts as long as the Delta faucets in my previous home. May 24, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Better than the rest Used this faucet in our vacation home and is great. When remodeling our main home we paid $500 for a different faucet we thought would be perfect that we ordered from the kitchen store and they won't take it back. Well it was far from perfect and we had to replace it the first week. The $500 faucet wouldn't pull down more than 5". This faucet pulls down at least 12" plus and reaches the bottom of the sink. We can fill a bucket over the edge of the sink. I highly recommend this if you're looking for a real functional faucet that looks great. April 9, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Deluca Faucet I like the look and convenience of the pull down faucet but it has 2 significant flaws: First: the inside of the faucet that holds the flexible pull down hose rust. After a year of use the hose comes out covered with rust. Second: the nozzle is not aerated sufficiently so that unless you adjust the water flow to a very low flow, the water splashes everywhere. Outside the sink and all up on the cabinet. I would not buy this faucet again. May 3, 2016
