Answer:
It has a button on the sprayer to put it in regular faucet mode or sprayer mode, but it doesn't have a pause mode that I'm aware of. One nice feature is that button stays in whatever mode you put it in without having to hold it down for a certain mode.

Answer:
I was replacing a painted plastic (fake brushed nickel finish) which was why I was replacing it. This one is metal except for the sprayer head (pullout part) which I believe is plastic that matches the finish of the rest of the faucet. The base, faucet neck and valve handle appear to be all metal. Mine was a brushed nickel finish.

It is not a true stainless color like other items in my kitchen. It looks closer to nickel, because it has a slight yellow tint and is brighter. It is metal with a coating (Delta calls it "Brilliance"). It is not plastic.

No reason why you would have to install the soap dispenser. We chose to because we previously had a soap dispenser and 1.) this matches the faucet & 2.) we would have had a hole in the sink deck to cover if we didn't.

Answer:
Yes, the soap dispenser is only an option. I left the soap dispenser off on mine, no problem, as I only had one hole installed in my new granite counter, and that is for the faucet. The soap dispenser is totally independent, not connected to anything, so you can leave it off all together. It simply screws from the bottom of the counter, if you have a hole for it. Otherwise, sell it on ebay.

Of course you can leave it off. It is completely separate. Depending on the holes in your sink, you may have to plug the hole with a plastic or stainless steel plug. They're under $10 bucks at HD.

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.4 out of 5 by 177 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by good faucet, too bad it's sole offering . . . This is a good strong product. I've had mine a couple of years. I want another one. I don't want the soap dispenser, too bad I can't order it without the soap dispenser. I can order a second soap dispenser, but not a second faucet. I profoundly don't understand this. Also, why wouldn't a successful, strong, desirable design like this be available in a compatible other size for additional sinks in a kitchen or pantry or other use? Guess I've learned something here. Before buying, ask about parts, other compatible models, and ability to buy replacement components without getting the whole box full. Sorry Delta, I'm looking elsewhere. October 15, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Easy to install, works well. This faucet is easy to install, 30 minutes to remove the old one and hook this one up. During installation my wife read me every review where someone had problems with the faucet, and I could see the buyer's remorse creeping in. Let me give you a few tips. Someone complained that the pull out water line was simply a press fit connection. When I turned on the sink water came out the faucet for 10 seconds then stopped, but the water was still flowing. I turned it off, looked under the sink, and thought, oh, I bet that blue clip sitting on the counter is supposed to hold that connection together. Problem solved. Others complained about the integrated supply lines. At least in my house I could change the angle of the supply shutoff valves slightly and route the supply lines at the back of the cabinet to get a nice big bend. Think creatively once everything was in it's place, the faucet works great and looks fine. October 8, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by delta pull down, deluca good quality, sturdy after mounting. priced at midrange. all in all we are pleased with the product. September 27, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Does everything we wanted Was easy to install...Couldn't get the hot water to flow initially, but finally discovered the slide adjustment hidden under the handle....Once I moved the slide all the way to the right, the hot water flowed just like we wanted... October 4, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by A nice faucet After using one it for about a month now I can say that this seems to be a fairly nice faucet. It was easy enough to install though I found the supply lines too long to reach the stopcocks under the sink without an added loop-the-loop and they were too short for a loop-the-loop that did not violate the suggested minimum bend radius of the line. Delta does supply parts and instructions so that in cases like this the lines can be trimmed shorter to eliminate the excess length, though the instructions do try to scare you away from using this option with all their warnings about how it must be done right and how, if you screw up, it's all on you. As to its operation, I guess if there is one thing about it I don't really care for, it is that there is only one position where the lever will stop the flow of the water and if you are not careful to return it to that position, you can end up with a dribble (or more) running out of the faucet. The faucet that this one replaced also had a single lever to control both the temperature and flow of the water and it did not care where the lever was relative to temperature selection when it came to shutting it off. If the lever was pushed to shut off the flow of water then it was shut off. On this Delta DeLuca, the lever must be returned to a centered (temperature wise) position before the lever can be fully pressed in to stop the flow of the water. Aesthetically this guarantees that when the faucet is turned off, it will always be "picture perfect" but this is less practical operationally and it is not as environmentally responsible (water will be wasted) as it could be. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great purchase This product was easy to install, looks great and works very well. Especially like the spray feature. August 22, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Gorgeous, but Functional for us It all started with a leak on an old Forte Kohler. Then boom, three parts and two trips later, I had permanently broken the thing. So then we started looking at an upgrade/replacement: we got the Deluca. It is a gorgeous marvel of design. Installation, despite my efforts, was a breeze. But we turned it on and found the height and angle to be ... Less than desired. It was splashing us and everything around the sink. And then we turned on the spray and it was a water-frenzied nightmare. But it was also funny. Unlike some pull-down's, this thing arcs a wee bit at the last second toward the sink. Our install's hole is only an inch away from the sink, so now I have to take this thing apart and return it. If you have an install that close, you might consider a different model and/or a pull-out kitchen faucet. January 18, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Delta DeLuca Single-Handled Pull-Down Sprayer Kitchen Faucet with Soap Dispenser Absolutely love this new faucet. The styling is great and so is the easiness of use. It is so much easier to use than my old faucet and the pull out spray is wonderful for rinsing off my sink. August 16, 2016
