The product is fine but somewhere on the specs. , description or picture it would be very helpful to show or say for round post. I have six inch square post and in the internet picture all it shows is a flat cover , it doesnt show the oval shape at the top and bottom of cover which leaves a 3/8 inch gap between post and outlet cover for rain to pour in. These would be great for a rounded post so there is nothing wrong with product just wish picture included oval shape

I had an electrician try to find a replacement for a broken receptacle that I had on my outside post lamp, to no avail. Said that he doubted if one could be found and if they did locate one it would be very expensive.
I went on line to Home Depot .com and found one very easily at a very moderate price. I replaced it myself, therefore saving the labor.
To replace it didn’t require rocket silence.
Very pleased with the result.

Removed the old cover, disconnected the existing receptacle. Installed new and replaced the screws. It doesn't get any easier than that and yes I removed the power to the pole.

Good product but made out of plastic! Plastic in the Florida heat and sun becomes brittle over time. The cover just snapped off when trying to open it. The new one is still plastic so I expect someday down the road the cover will brake off again. For the price I paid it should be redesigned and made out of Aluminum or Steel. It was very easy to install. Just shut off the power, remove 2 screws, disconnect the wires, and remove the old outlet. Reverse the procedure for installing the new outlet. It took me about 15 minutes to do the job including spray painting to match the light and pole (see picture). Would have given 5 stars if it was Aluminum or Steel.

Outlet was purchased for installation in lamp post that did not previously have an outlet. Had to purchase a step drill bit online at approximately $10 and short length of 14/2 external electrical cable. After wiring the outlet it was inserted and fastened with 2 screws. The installation was simple and the outlet is working fine. I would recommend this item.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Bernardo Perfect outlet for standard light pole.
The construction of the outlet is very solid. Heavy gauge wires that are long enough to make all connections. The body of the outlet is curved to fit extremely well on a standard 3 inch light pole. It does require that you purchase a 1 3/8 inch hole saw to install. However, the entire installation only took about 30 minutes. I'm extremely happy with the product and would purchase it again.

I bought a pole without an outlet. I had planned to "Frankenstein" an electric box and outlet into the new pole, but upon a few internet inquiries, discovered home depot sold this item as an online only purchase. I read other reviews and decided this was the way to go. the hardest part of the whole installation was deciding the position of the outlet. I think they look stupid near the top, so it had to be near ground level. you must take careful measurements as you hold the pole in the freshly dug hole because once you make a hole, that is it. I would prefer a double outlet, but can live with the single. you could always buy two of these, but then you are spending a lot of money for a little convenience. that is the other point- the whole assembly is plastic, seems overpriced, but as they say, "if you want to dance you have to pay the fiddler." since it is curved to exactly fit the pole, and has a snap-shut door, I like it and would recommend it, as there seems to be no other alternative out there.
