for a circular saw like this, you get a lot of speed in a small package, this is far more portable than my heavy 7-1/2" circular saw, I would still keep my large saw for the heavy duty cutting, depths greater than 3/4". I used the Sawmax to make quick work of an old broken down hollow core door, by slicing it up into small pieces to go into a trash barrel. This is a very appropriate use of this tool and not my 7-1/2", as the larger saw has too much torque and would have required to clamp the door down. While this unit has a lot of speed, it has very little torque, meaning no turns or it will slow down or stop. My only complaint would be that the handle, for whatever reason, gets very hot to hold onto after extended use. I certainly noticed it when cutting the door. For intermittent use, it should be okay. I have a wood blade and metal blade.

I have to say that the biggest impression from this tool is the torque. When you hit the trigger you better have a good grip or it might jump out of your hand. Hopefully that will sum up the review as the rest of the features are well documented and certainly do not disappoint.
I put this tool through many uses and it has not left me wanting for any of them with the exception of blade options, that seems a bit limited. Also, a case, even a canvas case, would be a most welcome gratuity.

Bought the Saw Max SM-20 specifically for a laminate flooring job in my home. Excellent for plunge and fussy cuts. I preferred my cabinet saw (table saw) for dimension (cross and rip) cuts of planks, but the SM-20 would do those as well, just less precise and slower. The dust collection adapter should be packed with the saw. My local stores did not carry it. I also bought a flush cut blade and found that to be superb for casing cuts.

The Dremel 6A Saw Max Tool is a very handy tool that can be used to cut different types of material.
Size & Design:
The size and weight of this saw are reasonable and allow handling with ease. The tool is well designed and fits in your hand like a glove. This allows you to cut with confidence.
This saw is corded (runs on 110V) and the cord length is approx 6ft. The tool is powerful enough for most home projects.
The tool feels sturdy and of good quality. It comes with a 2 year warranty which gives me more confidence and assurance. I have had it for a few days only and I cannot comment on its durability.
My first test of this saw was to cut an opening in drywall (check the pics). Cutting was a breeze but it produced an unbelievable amount of dust, whereas a cleaner job could've been performed using a manual jab saw / drywall saw. Of course this was just a test so it doesn't matter, but something to keep in mind if you plan to cut through drywall in a furnished home.
What's in the box:
My saw came without a case for storage/transportation. I also received only two wheels: one for metal and one for wood/plastic. The picture of the product on the HD site shows two more wheels: one for tile and one multipurpose. This could just be because I received this product through the Seeds program. I received no other accessories.

The Dremel Saw-Max tool came with the level of durability I have come to love from dremel over the years. I went out to my local home depot and purchased a 1-1/4 inch mini saw blade for my weekend project. I bought a desk from ikea the previous weekend that ended up being too long on one side and it needed to be trimmed down to size.
The Dremel combined with the mini saw blade made quick work of the needed corrections to my new Ikea desk. I trimmed off just under three inches of my desk and it now sits perfectly in the corner. There is a bit of a kick to this tool, so if you are some what of a novice user I would make sure you have a solid grip before you start.
The safety feature on the handle was very nice and a great addition. My favorite feature on this was the ability to elevate the saw to your needed height so your cuts are not too deep and they are even.
Very impressed with the design of this tool overall and I think dremel has another winner on their hands with this.
