for a circular saw like this, you get a lot of speed in a small package, this is far more portable than my heavy 7-1/2" circular saw, I would still keep my large saw for the heavy duty cutting, depths greater than 3/4". I used the Sawmax to make quick work of an old broken down hollow core door, by slicing it up into small pieces to go into a trash barrel. This is a very appropriate use of this tool and not my 7-1/2", as the larger saw has too much torque and would have required to clamp the door down. While this unit has a lot of speed, it has very little torque, meaning no turns or it will slow down or stop. My only complaint would be that the handle, for whatever reason, gets very hot to hold onto after extended use. I certainly noticed it when cutting the door. For intermittent use, it should be okay. I have a wood blade and metal blade.

I installed over 1300 sq ft of laminate flooring and I used this saw to make all the cuts I needed. I purchased the traffic Master Alameda Hickory laminate flooring, and needed a way to make the cuts and trims, for the job. Never doing anything like this, I researched what I could use, and found this saw would be a good fit.
It has cut over 1300 sq feet of laminate, and I installed about 300 feet of new 5.5 inch baseboard, and it is still on the first blade! This saw is easy to hold, and easy to work with. It isn't very heavy and you can control it easily with one hand. It isn't very loud, but does sound like a power tool, in use.
It comes with the plastic/wood blade attached, and that is what I used for the laminate and baseboard. It cuts through, like it is going through butter.
I think it will last a long time, as it has a very well made feel to it. I highly recommend this tool, if you need something that is easy to handle, and works great.

This is a great saw for quick projects or large projects where a large power saw is not appropriate. Easy to use and handle. Great design.

I picked this up a few months ago and have used it for multiple different projects; from cutting drywall and lumber to metal and tile. The tool itself is easy to handle with just one hand. The blade life could last a bit longer, but given the versatility of the tool I am ok with that.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by thebighash A very handy tool for home use
The Dremel 6A Saw Max Tool is a very handy tool that can be used to cut different types of material.
Size & Design:
The size and weight of this saw are reasonable and allow handling with ease. The tool is well designed and fits in your hand like a glove. This allows you to cut with confidence.
This saw is corded (runs on 110V) and the cord length is approx 6ft. The tool is powerful enough for most home projects.
The tool feels sturdy and of good quality. It comes with a 2 year warranty which gives me more confidence and assurance. I have had it for a few days only and I cannot comment on its durability.
My first test of this saw was to cut an opening in drywall (check the pics). Cutting was a breeze but it produced an unbelievable amount of dust, whereas a cleaner job could've been performed using a manual jab saw / drywall saw. Of course this was just a test so it doesn't matter, but something to keep in mind if you plan to cut through drywall in a furnished home.
What's in the box:
My saw came without a case for storage/transportation. I also received only two wheels: one for metal and one for wood/plastic. The picture of the product on the HD site shows two more wheels: one for tile and one multipurpose. This could just be because I received this product through the Seeds program. I received no other accessories.

I bought this after starting to replace the windows in my house and discovering that I needed to trim the siding around the old windows to remove them. After attempting to use a circular saw I decided I needed something a lot lighter and easier to handle and decided on the Dremel SM-20. I was amazed at how easy it was to guide by hand. Just mark a line and follow it. I also used it to rip several lengths of 1x4 up to 7 feet long. They almost looked like they were done on a table saw. Definitely a tool that's worth its weight in gold.
