Difference between models

What is the difference between the Multi Max, the 3000 series, and the 4000 series in terms of versatility and performance (besides the obvious number of attachments supplied)? I need a Dremel to remove ceramic bathroom fixtures from ceramic tile. (Most highly recommended method!) Prefer a corded product.

The power is one factor but also the attachments that are included with the model. Some attachments can be costly.

Answer:
The Multi Max is our oscillating tool, the 3000 and 4000 are our rotary tools. These tools are used for different applications. While we do manufacture products to remove grout, we do not manufacture anything that will "lift" the tile.

Answer:
The Dremel mm600 is advertised as a rigid scraper tool, good for removing old tile, grout, or adhesives from floor or walls. I have not used this one yet. The mm482 is a 1 1/4 inch plunge cut blade that can cut through wood and nails. Designed to cut flush with the floor.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by This tool is a dud !! I am not to happy with dremel multi max the teeth that holds the blades in place broke off and was breaking the blades and the blades are NOT CHEAP I sent it to dremel and they replaced the part only for the teeth to break once again after having it not more than a month after the part was replaced. I have only had this too for about 9 months December 30, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Typical disposable Drexel product Cheap electronics/motors plague this company. Don't expect it to last if you use it beyond general home hobby use September 6, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Terrific special tool A great specialty tool. Its not exactly indespensible, but it sure makes a lot of little things a home handyman does a little easier. I'd give it 5 stars, but the storage and carrying case is horribly arranged for convenient stowage of accessories. It would be so easy to fix, but apparently Dremel doesn't think organization is important enough to pay one guy for 1 hour of work to redesign it. So, four stars. August 11, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not as Good as I thought. My wife bought me this tool for my birthday 2yrs ago I've used it maybe 5 times since I've had it and last week I was using it to cut out some grout out of some bathroom tile 2x2 ft and it stopped working and wont say anything. I am very disappointed I thought kit was a quality tool, guess I was wrong. don' t know if I will buy another one.....?? July 27, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Favorite power tool This oscillating tool was purchased last year, I rehab/flip homes and needed to remove the sub floor from a room, but needed to flush cut along a wall. This tool worked perfect. It now gets used daily in many different ways. Flush cutting nails, removing stripped screwed on hinges, grout removal, old thin set removal from back of tiles, cutting drywall. The house I am working on now had plastic outlet boxes that were extended past the drywall, I was able to flush cut the boxes without damage to wall. Only con is price of blades, but they are made well and hold up through a lot of use. April 2, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Wow - what an improvement from my 1.5 Amp 6300 My old 6300 had 1.5 amps of power - the MM 30 has 2.5 - wow what an improvement ! Used the sanding tool to repair 3 cedar flower boxes, then the wood cutting tool to remove tree roots from my shrub beds. Additional power made both jobs a snap. I definitely recommend this product. Home depot had this in inventory. April 15, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Decent tool This tool did all I needed and more. I do wish I had gone with the Rockwell though, but only because that one doesn't limit you to their own blades (it accepts Dremel, Milwaukee, etc.) Other than that, this is a great tool! Had mine for 9 months now. frankinottawa: Of course it's overheating! It has an intermittent short! Fix the cord and ALL the symptoms you described go away. Vibration can cause a solder joint (where the cord actually connects within the tool) to come loose. I doubt Dremel x-rays the solder joints. If they did, add $50 to the price of the tool. Gonna happen from time to time; not the end of the world. December 9, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Multi Tool warranty works I purchased the Multi Max in May 2014 from Home Depot. I used it around the house through the summer removing trim from windows and cutting nails from the tough to reach places. Great tool and recommend it. Went for this model for the additional amps. The only down side was that the box was sealed but did not contain the hoop attachment for the sand paper. My fault for not returning to HD right away once the missing part was discovered. Late in the summer of 2014 the attachment holder broke, one of the pins. I continued to use the tool until my project was done. Once winter set in I returned the tool the Dremel warranty site. Within a week I received a brand new unit with all the accessories including the hoop connector. Very quick service. Be sure to check the contents of the box from HD make sure you get all the parts. The regular wood/metal blades wear out very quickly so I ended up getting a couple of the carbide blades. They were worth every penny. My first carbide blade lasted about 10x longer then the regular wood/metal blades. January 16, 2015
