Customer Questions & Answers

How adjustable is the speed?

In addition to my driveway I would want to use this to blow leaves out of my gutters. How powerful is it on low speed? I don't want to damage the gutters (or snow/ice melting "heat tape" I have on the roof/in the gutters) using it.
Asked by: Jack
It's a trigger, so very adjustable

Will the Lithium-Ion cordless Blower take a 58 volt 4A Lithium-Ion Battery?

Asked by: GRC
Thank you for asking, GRC. Yes, this cordless leaf blower would accept either of our current 58 volt batteries. This includes both, the 4 amp hour and the 2 amp hour batteries. All of our tools and even the charger would accept either battery as they are all interchangeable as long as we stick to the Echo 58 volt items. Thanks and great question!

Blower intermittently runs for several second then cuts out.

By Echo 58v is plagued by an intermittent issue where the blower, went first used (after a week or so), will run for 2-4 seconds, then stop. This will repeat a number of times, until it finally can be coaxed to remain running. I understand that the battery has overload/overheat protection, but could this be a design error, where the threshold of overload detection is too low? Do you have any tips/hacks that I might be able to follow to get my blower to start running reliably when I encounter this problem? Many thanks, Greg S. Sacramento
Asked by: MrGreg
I had the same problem in 2015, took it for warranty repair and they could find nothing wrong; this year the same problem until I read here about the battery reset button. My question: WHERE, in ALL the blower and battery info, does it ONCE mention this button? I nor my wife can find it, yet it is a vital item in using this machine!

Does it have a bag attachment to suck up leaves? I need one to get leaves off my trampoline and into a bag. Can't blow off. Have to suck them up

Asked by: PG
Thank you for asking, PG. The packing list for this kit would include the blower, the blower tube with scraper assembly, a battery, a charger, and all necessary paperwork. Therefore, no, this blower does not include a bag for leaves. Since there is not vacuum option on this leaf blower, there is not option to attach a bag for sucking up the leaves. Hope this helps!

I was recently in Home Depot and noticed this store had a few of these Echo battery-powered leaf blowers on clearance so bought one to see how it compared to the gas powered ones. It only took a couple of minutes to unpackage and read the included instruction sheet. Upon depressing the battery gauge button I noticed the 58v battery had two out of four bars lit so I put the battery on the charger for about an hour. When I checked the battery gauge button to see if it had charged it had charged more it still read two bars. I proceeded to leave the battery overnight on the charger and checked on it in the morning, still two bars. So, I figured I would give the leaf blower a try and ran the motor for a bit blowing some small piles of leaves and debris off my front yard and into a pile. Then I put the battery back on the charger and this time heard the charger fan kick on and the the flashing light went from red to green. The battery charged to full in about an hour and ready to give it a real try. The leaves have pretty much all fallen and most all have already been blown and the yards cleaned up, but I wanted to see what this blower could do. The leaf blower is a slightly lighter than my PB-251 gas blower but part of that could be due to the shorter blower tube which is a bit stubby in my opinion. I also noticed that this cordless leaf blower has a rather large opening, about 3.25 inches, at the end of the tube which seems to diminish the effectiveness of the claimed 450cfm and making blowing much less concentrated and requiring me to keep the motor at full speed the entire time. While I have not drained a battery from full charge I have run it for about 7-8 minutes at full speed and that took the battery down about 1.5 bars. I read other reviews of getting 30 minutes out of a full charge at full speed but I am skeptical. I believe it would be closer to about 20-25 minutes to completely drain a fully charged battery, but that would be enough to do most if not my front and rear yards except during the fall when I can blow leaves for what seems like forever. This leaf blower came with the 58 volt - 2AH battery. I'm sure if it came equipped with the 4AH battery, which comes with the Echo cordless mower, it would be able to tackle most all leaf blower chores for small to average lot sizes. Unfortunately, the town that I am moving to has outlawed gas-powered leaf blowers so I may have no choice but to use a cordless battery-powered leaf blower so will be keeping this one. Just wish the tube would narrow down to a smaller opening, perhaps around 2 inches like my gas-powered blower which makes it feel quite a bit more powerful. I may see if I can modify some ABS or PVC tubes and joints to see if that helps.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love these Echo Products / Powerful blower with easy maintenance I have owned a gas-powered Echo blower and chainsaw that have given me years of very reliable use. My wife wanted to switch to the battery powered tools because of the ease of use and maintenance. We have not been disappointed. This blower is fantastic: it works as effectively as our gas-powered model with less noise and no worries about gas-mixture fuels. The battery system is easy and is fully charged in about half an hour. I use my blower several times per week to clear off the patio and driveway, about 10 minutes of use each time. I have found that I only have to rechange the battery about every 3 weeks. Honestly, this is a remarkably convenient blower that works well for household use.

My hand me down Poulan gas blower( which was very finicky!) decided to give up the ghost, so when I was at HD I saw this kit for 99 bucks on clearance. I decided to give it a try and was very pleased. I don't have much in the way of leaves at my place, but grass clippings, patio, driveway and garage/ woodworking debris...I've got plenty. Got this thing home and charged up the battery, was at 50% out of the box. Took about 20 minutes to fully charge and off I went. I cleared my patio, driveway, sidewalks, porch and sawdust in the garage for a total of 20 minutes of work and the battery was at 50% when I was done. Not bad for my needs. Nice not having fight with a machine for 20 minutes just to get is started,Just slap the battery in and off you go! this was a good buy for 99 bucks.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A well balanced Echo blower This blower is amazing. First I was skeptical to buy it because of its review being on the heavy side but I owned an Echo backpack blower and I was impressed with its quality and performance so I decided to give it a try. When I used it to blow the snow on the deck I was impressed by its power especially the snow was frozen on the top. The weight was not an issue at all because it is well balanced. Overall it is well built blower and it should last for a long time.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Life is easier with this blower Before buying this, I purchased the 58V String Trimmer about a year ago and loved it so much that I purchased the 58V chainsaw. I had held off purchasing the leaf blower as the battery looked as if it was smaller and not interchangeable with the one in the chainsaw and trimmer. I WAS WRONG. The 58V batteries are ALL interchangeable, the one in the leaf blower has fewer amps. The blower works pretty well BUT if you use the 4.0 amp battery from the trimmer, it works GREAT!!! I love being able to blow off my 250' driveway without using a cord! I also love that storage is great because unlike my corded blower, I don't mess with a cord.

Unfortunately, the battery and charger will give you fits. I've had to get two new chargers because of defects. Not only that, but half of the time, you need to repetitively put the battery back on the charger to get it to start charging. Avoid this product as it's very unreliable, find something that works all the time. When I say to avoid it, I mean AVOID it!!!

I got this on sale for half off, If I hadn't I would take it back. The best option would be to buy a back-up battery so you can actually do everything you need to in the same sitting. the problem is the battery is more expensive than what I paid for the actual blower.
