Rated 5 out of 5Â by John A must have for all landscape projects
Purchased Weedblock for several projects incluing, under patio deck, bases for brick patio, and concrete paver stone walkway. Tough enough to stand up to the install process without tearing yet easy to cut and shape to fit the area covered

I used the weedblock to cover an area in my front yard that was overrun with weeds. After weeding and spraying weedkiller, I covered the area with weedblock and then covered the weedblock with decorative stone. See the attached photo.

I invesed the time and energy to put WEEDBLOCK down. It plainly does not work for the type of weed I have. The weed is coming right through. Don't know what type of weed it is but it's a prickly thing that produces a thistle type seed that the gold finces love. There is another type of weed block out there from a major competitor of HD that does work. I put down 50X3ft of that and have not seen any weeds at all comming through that.

I didn't realize how thin/flimsy this stuff was when I purchased it. Especially compared to the fabric they sell at the landscape supply lots. I put a few holes through it with my fingers by accident when laying it down. That said, it is easier to put down than landscape fabric. It's been a few weeks and I haven't seen any weeds come through it so as long as it works, that's all I can about. And it was a lot cheaper! Fingers crossed, but so far so good.

I painstakingly cleared the dirt of weeds, smoothed the ground, laid the weedblock, and covered it with a layer of small rocks. As soon as the first rain came, weeds popped up all over the place, growing right through the weedblock as if it were soil. The weeds weren't even thinner in places where two layers of weedblock overlapped. This product claims to block weeds for ten years, but I very much doubt that the manufacturer tested it for even a month.
After a forest of weeds had grown, I tore it up and laid a double layer of 4-mil plastic instead, and that is stopping the weeds much better.
