Answer:
400 watts, which means that for each hour of use, it will cost you .4 x the kilowatt/hour rate you pay on your power bill (1 kilowatt hour is 1000 watts being pulled for one hour).
For example, if you paid 10 cents per kW/h, this heater will cost 4 cents an hour to run. Hope that helps.

Answer:
We placed ours on the north wall of a large bathroom. After 1.5 years of usage, it recently developed a thin, 12"-long crack across the surface. Still works, but we're wondering how safe it is and if normal bathroom humidity caused the crack. Just a caution...

I have used this unit in my bathroom for a couple of years with absolutely no problems. I wouldn't put it near the tub where it may get drenched but other than that it's fine. It does get hot to the touch so you may not want to us it near children. I'm a senior citizen and still have enough of my faculties to know not to touch when it's on.

There is a thermostat available through the manufacturer. I don't believe it is available separately, however, only with purchase of a unit.

I am wondering if this heater can be hard wired into the wall? For instance if you cut off the end of the cord and hardwired it in where current baseboard heater wires are coming out of the wall?

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by It heats a 12x16 room with ease. Gets warmer than I would like but won't burn anyone. Easy to install. October 25, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Works Great. I installed this today in a small basement office that is very cold. It's now the warmest room in the house. The front gets hotter than I thought it might, but no hotter than our baseboards upstairs (boiler heating system). The only reason I don't give this 5 stars is... 1) I've only used it for 12 hours. 2) I'd like to have "control" over the unit (it just has an on/off switch). Newer units from this brand "do" have temperature control and timers. I hope Home Depot will support this product. If it keeps working and the power bills don't show a spike, I'll buy a dozen and turn off the furnace. November 27, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by 10×10 kids bedrooms in Washington state Perfect...easy on and off switch. They keep the kid's room's toasty and they love them. The cost to have them on all day is pennies a day. It is a great solution for kids. For adults....it is very warm in the rooms..it doesnt come with a temperature gauge and it doesnt have a fan. If you are a hot sleeper...leave your window cracked or a fan on to circulate cool and warm. With the cold months here.. I would highly recommend these in your home. Energy efficient..easy set up..kid safe..warm..as long as a you keep the doors shut. These are meant for each room to be designated warm...close the doors...keep them open ..you will feel nothing. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Econo-Heat Wall Board Heater Econo-Heat 400 Watt Convection Flat Panel Space Heater with Programmable Thermostat This unit will "Convection" heat your room. You have to leave it on in order for the air to circulate in the room! Immediate heat is not and has never been the intended purpose for this product! I live in Upper Michigan where winters are very cold. These heaters work great! You need to follow the instructions in order for proper operation. Garage applications will not work well. An interior room of a home will work perfect. "TIP" Mount heater to interior wall, not a wall where outside temperatures are on the other side! This unit WILL draw cold air from the floor and heat it causing a natural rotation of air in the room! You will not be disappointed! They do work! especially if you have a "cold" room and are looking to supplement your existing heat source! Keep Warm! Summer will be back soon! January 20, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Save your money I bought 2 of these on 12/15/15 and from the beginning they didn't put out the kind of heat they boast, they increased or electric bill by $90 a month and one has already cracked. April 7, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Name says it all . This was the best heater I have ever purchased in my life in fact I am planning to buy a couple more. I am using this in my basement that currently doesn't have any other heating except for the heating pipes running through it. Theses pipes radiate heat but it's not enough to heat up the basement. This little heater supplements enough heat to keep it comfortable. I am not sure if it would be sufficient if used in he basement where there is no other heat source. The installation was so easy it only took like 5 minutes and it instantly started to radiate heat within a minute of switching it on. I would totally recommend it. October 27, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by One of our best purchases ever This wall panel heater is exactly as advertised and is doing precisely what we needed it to do. The instructions say NOT to hang it in a bathroom. However, we are using it in a large bathroom, on an outside wall, away from water and hidden plumbing, and without children around who might electrocute themselves thru splashing. It has solved a long problem of my aged / disabled husband not being able to take hot soaks or showers in our best bathroom because the temp was below 65o most of the year. So we're delighted, pleased, relieved, &c with this product! February 10, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Very nice product but a little hot to the touch I really liked this heater, but would advise against its use in rooms where small children could be near it, because of the potential for burn. March 22, 2016
