Can this pump be used for septic tank

Asked by: chris
I would not recommend using this type of sub pump for any septic tank, as it will clog up and burnout the pump. Septic tanks need special pumps which have a wider opening which will work much better. Hope this helps.

Cuz my pump stop working when the power went out in the house so I was wanted to know if it did have one

Asked by: James
Hello; I don't fully understand your question other then, you lost power in your home and the Sub pump stopped working. Well, the on/off switch is built in the Tether which is the float. So if you unplug the power cord and reconnect it, and hold the Tether float Switch in an upright position, this should turn on the Sub Pump. However, make sure your Sub Pump is in water so you do not burn out the motor in the pump, as you should never run the Sub Pump dry! Hope this answers your question and helps you.

Purchased at Home Depot two weeks ago to replace failed sump pump to remove ground water under floor on raised foundation residence. Pump was easy to install in the existing 16" Dia sump pit, runs quiet and the instructions are clear. So far so good. The tethered float switch design is deficient in that there is no inherent means to adjust the level at which the pump is activated. As this item is intended for a wide range of applications some flexibility in adjusting the activation level to suit the specifics of each application would make this product a 5 star rating. It can't and shouldn't be that difficult to add that enhancement to the product.

Quiet operation even though it ran for eight hours straight. The only recommendation is to change the float so that it can be clamped in the on position.

My only complaint is that this pump was much louder than the dead Flotec pump which I was replacing. I ended up replacing this Everbilt pump with a 1/3 HP Zoeller pump... which is more quiet than both the Flotec and Everbilt pumps. This Everbilt pump would be fine as long as it's not directly below bedrooms or quiet spaces.

I let the 1/2HP model get clogged up (no fault of its own), and needed to purchase another pump to drain the flooded basement. I went for the more powerful version on the second run, but the 1/4 HP works just fine. For folks following along at home, note that this is designed to fit in a basin or a pit. The pump doesn't kick in until the float is higher than the top of the pump.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Workhorse This definitely does the job and does it well. The only complaint I have is the on/off floating ball's (Tether) functionality. Once in a blue, it doesn't turn on and has to be manually shaken to turn on. Like I said , it rarely happens, but it does happen. I have the pump set up underneath the house in a crawl space, so when it rains, it pumps the water out quickly.

Product works great! it was more expensive than one that I bought from a competitor but the cheaper pump only lasted two weeks. So I guess that you get what you pay for. And a dry basement is worth the extra money along with the peace of mind.
