Customer Questions & Answers

Since this does not fit snug on the post. Will this be shaky in case anything bumps into it ?

Asked by: Adrian
It's screwed in so probably not but since the body is pretty much fiberglass frame I can't imagine that it would survive a hit... at least from a vehicle. I ended up pouring some quikcrete inside the frame once in place over the post. It's pretty snug to be fair and won't move...

POST length needed ????

I am confused by the directions on the video, it says to buy an 8 ft. post, but wouldn't a 7 ft post be more appropriate? if you bury and 8 ft post 2 ft deep, then that leave 6 feet sticking up out of the ground, but the mailbox if 5 ft tall. the Post would then stick out the top by 1 ft, wouldn't it?
Asked by: boba
I am looking to put one in also, however in North Dakota, the fost line is four foot deep. You have to dig down that far to go below the fost line otherwise you will have the ice lifting you box up in the winter and your box falling in the late spring when it melts. You will have to dig accordingly to your area. I need the longer post sizes

Why is this still unavailable from Eye Level LLC when they are still supplying Home Depot with a different faux stone post? When will this one be available? I have tried to contact Eye Level directly, but cannot find current info. It seems the company may be out of business, yet I don't understand why they are able to send you one type of mailbox post. I would like to get one of these posts as soon as possible. Do you have any current contact info for the supplier?

Gray Stacked Stone Brace and Curved Cap Mailbox Post is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 52.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not Durable Whatsoever Post looks great coming out of box and is easy to install however is not durable whatsoever. Within a few days of installing small chips began to appear from any type of weather or contact and after one winter it looks terrible. Almost the entire finish looks like alligator skin which has bubbled up or peeled off like a sunburn. Very disappointed this product hasn't even lasted a year.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice looking but so so fit Pros: -price -looks beautiful Cons: -fragile, first one came damaged, second one was still cracked however the support was OK (was cracked on the first one too) -cap doesn't fit properly, had to trim the fiberglass top to have it properly sit flush. Not acceptable but at that point it was already too late to return. -mounting hw for the mailbox was flimsly... ended up getting a few small lag bolts which worked great. Advice: Make sure u inspect as soon as taking out of the box and test fit.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Looks great! Looks great, but was a bit tricky to install. You have to drill through the resin and into your 4x4 post in order to secure it in place. This was the most difficult part of the installation. You have to be careful not to apply too much pressure so you don't crack the resin. Overall, a great looking product! Very sturdy once installed. Paired it with a regular sized mailbox (oversized box would look awkward).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product - really improves the landscape I was amazed when I opened the box and saw the post! The online photos do not do it justice, this is a beautiful, well manufactured product that totally changed the landscape appearance of my front yard. The post is solid molded one-piece, but the simulated stone is done so well that one cannot tell the stones were not individually laid. Installation is simple and easy, IF you READ and follow directions. I placed it right over my existing 4x4 mail box post, and took another reviewer's advice about screwing an additional 2x4 into one side and the back of the existing post to add stability. There is ample room to place the stone post over a 6x6 as well. Follow the installation instructions: do not try to center the new post around the 4x4 or 6x6. Push the stone post completely against the street-facing side of the inner 4x4 or 6x6. Also, word of advice: take the plastic bag of screws that comes in the box, and discard them. They are substandard and will strip if you try to use them. Pick up some 4" deck screws and use these to affix the mail box bracket by screwing through the stone facade and into the inner 4x4. My new mail box post is sturdy, secure, and I couldn't be happier with the purchase.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from GOOD Purchase I had read About the product in other reviews before purchasing. And I did find on opening the box that it is fragile, upon shipping. I had a small chip on the top side of the post and I had to put some cement on it and it was high enough to hide. Also when you mount the mailbox post to your wooden 4x4 , you need to be careful and precise as the fiberglass stone chips very easily.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible! This product does not even deserve 1 star! We took it out of the box and it was broken in several different places. We ordered it the beginnjng of June and the receipt says you can return it in 90 days yet the store said we had to return it in 30 days! We were finally able to get our money back. Will not be ordering another one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looks awesome! I'm happy with it, easy to install, could be improved a bit for te money it cost, cap didn't fit well and had to load it with caulk to keep it stuck on and a solid mailbox platform would be better, screws just slip in because it's hollow inside but it still looks great and I'm happy with my new post.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Love the look but couple issues One of my "stones" is cracked/chilled at the top of the box. The package arrived perfect, so it must've been done before packaged. Also, not sure if it's from my dad who installed the mailbox, but the shelf doesn't lay flush, nor does the decorative piece under the shelf.
