Answer:
it is easy if the square hole of the tank fits the square plastic. Bending the metal arm is not easy, because I was concern about breaking the curve plastic that connects the metal arm.

Answer:
Very easily...Your old one will come off with a nut on the inside of the toilet. You may not even need tools. Insert the new one, attach the chain to lift the flapper and you are done.

After removing the old lever, the new toilet handle is installed by removing the lock nut (this is a reverse threaded nut so as you are facing the thread and lock nut rotate the nut counterclockwise to remove) off the thread and metal arm. Slip the metal arm into the toilet tank hole from outside the tank, being careful not to damage the ceramic while snugly pushing the square frame surrounding the new handle into the hole, and aligning the handle to sit horizontally and parallel to the tank lid. In some cases the lever arm may need to be bent so in cases like these start the bend approximately 1 to 2 inches from the 90 degree bend and slowly bend the tank lever away from the front wall of the tank. (It is always a good idea to use the old tank lever as a template and make your bends prior to inserting the lever into the toilet.) Once the handle is oriented to give an appropriate look from the front of the toilet and allow downward flushing, slip the lock nut through the tank lever arm and tighten the new lock nut from inside the tank to secure the new handle in place. The lock nut is a reverse threaded nut so when tightening the nut(as you are facing the front of the toilet tank) turn it in a clockwise rotation. After that, simply connect the flapper chain to allow just a small amount of slack in the chain so that after the toilet is flushed, the flapper is free to fall completely and fully seal the tank. The flusher handle & arm are very easy to install. If I recall the other reviewers correctly, almost everyone posted how easy to install. I agree!

CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 4.0 out of 5 by 33 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Curved Toilet Tank Lever Ease of installation, quality and price were very good. May 17, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Quick and Easy! I was playing The Sims all day and then my Sim needed to use the toilet. I realized that I too had to use the toilet. So I paused the game and into my little bathroom I went. After doing my business (standing up, because I am a man), I went to flush the toilet and the handle had no give to it! What's this? The plastic rod snapped! What was I to do?! So I lifted the cover and pulled the remains of the rod until the cistern emptied. Oh woe is me. I feel like my Fun meter drained right out of me! So the next morning I went to Home Depot and found this gem! I immediately rushed home with my Happy mood on full and went to install it. Repair Level 2! In 5 minutes flat, the handle was replaced and I was a happy man again and back to playing The Sims. October 5, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Just amazing When my toilet stopped flushing, it was such a disasterious day! I rushed right down to my Home Depot to find a adequate replacement. Although I was very impressed by the fancy chrome ones, the fluid master just seemed to have a glow to it up on the shelf. I picked up this beautiful handle and was immediately impressed by the ergonomic shape and high quality white plastic. I took it home for a very affordable price. It practically installed itself!! Within 5 minutes my toilet was flushing like new again! I couldn't be happier with this toilet handle. It's probably the best purchase I made all year. January 1, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not for my toilet I like the look of it but unless you cut the metal lever/bar it wont allow my American Standard toilet to flush because it runs into the lid. I cut it right beside the hole 2nd closest to the actual handle and it still hits the lid-but it does allow it to flush. June 18, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by This item does not fit most older toilets On most toilets, the shape of this handle is such that it is in the way when toilet seats are raised. This handle "works" without that problem only on side-mount toilets. The same company makes a similar handle whose partly recessed shape avoids the raised seats. The packaging does not contain any information to help the buyer decide which version to purchase. Actually, one wonders why the company makes this shape at all? The other shape, with a recess at the pivot, could be used in any position on almost any toilet. I would also prefer a stronger build: the all-plastic lever system is guaranteed to fail, as plastic always will in time. Finding really good U.S.-made products is getting harder by the day. October 14, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Pleased with my Purchase The plastic stem had broken on the old handle. I found this replacement on homedepot.com and ordered it for store pick-up, and went out to get it that same evening. The installation was very easy, but our toilet has a front-mounted handle. I understand that using this handle on the side of the tank requires a little more work. The handle is still working fine after about a month or so of use. I have no complaints. October 28, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Doesn't work well for some side mounted handles The design of this product seems to be geared more towards a front-mounted handle. I ended up buying two of these trying to get it to work in replacement of a side-mounted handle. If the arm were a round rod that I could shape in any direction it may have worked. Instead the arm is a flattened piece of metal that only bends easily in two directions. In the end I purchased a handle that was specifically for a side-mounted handle and that one worked for me. Based on the design and movement of the arm, I'm sure it would have worked well for a front-mounted handle. November 12, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Meh.. It took multiple attempts to fit the lever into the tank so it would completely lift the flapper valve, yet not hit the tank cover. Still have occasional trouble not fully lifting the flapper, but a slower press on the handle seems to work 90% of the time. I'd include a photo, but you probably would not recognize the product due to cuts, bends, and other tweaking to make it work. September 23, 2014
