Customer Questions & Answers

Will this product adhere to a shiny brass plated metal light fixture and make it look like antique brass?

Asked by: Kat
I think you would be better off using a spray paint that is an antique color. You can spray the fixture and it should look great. I have done this myself and I really liked it.

What color is this wax

I want to antique a white table and chairs that have black trim. I am looking for a wax that is black or dark gray not brown. Any help would be appreciated
Asked by: Gail
I purchased the brown and clear wax. My cabinets were originally almond, I painted then a medium gray, which you can do with your table and chairs, then use to brown wax and the gray will come through as you rub the was off to get the antiques look. You can then paint your trim back to black and you will have a gray antique looking table and chair set. Try it, I'm sure you will like to look!

Home Decor 8 oz. Antiquing Wax Finish is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Fair I bought this wax because I wanted to seal my paint on my desk top...I expected it to be "wax" like a paste, that I could rub on over my paint and seal it....this "wax" is liquid. This particular one is the "antique" color, which I liked a lot so I could make my faux painting look aged. All in all, I was fine with this "wax"....

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful product to work with. I used it to antique my kitchen cabinets and gave them some wood... Wonderful product to work with. I used it to antique my kitchen cabinets and gave them some wood grain effect and antique qualities. they look great and I am so glad that I tried it. This works way better than just a stain as it dries somewhat in a few minutes to where it is still workable to give you the effect that you want on your project. Takes about 7 hours to dry completely, at which time you can add the clear wax or a polyurethane coat.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Creamy Antiquing Wax I used this antiquing wax finish on a coffee table for my daughter. It goes on smooth and provides a dark tinting to the chalk paint I had used on the table. My only complaint is that you have to wait one hour before you can buff the finish and I use more wax than usually to get the desired look I wanted. But it does come with a value price over many other wax finish products.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really awesome last step for the chalk paints in the line! This FolkArt line of Chalk Paints and Wax have really been a great find! I have had a great time sprucing up my current belongings and bringing them back to life! I had been searching for replacement baskets for quite some time. I have these red metal ones and I decided to use these paints instead of buying new baskets. Glad I did! I took them from red to Grotto blue (an aqua) with the antique wax over top. They really look nice!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cool product! Easy to use with great results. This product gave my newly painted grandfather clock an aged, well worn look - that I was trying to achieve.
