T 50 Staples go through hardwood for reupholstering with this gun

Asked by: TC
You simply have to adjust air pressure on air compressor to accomodate hardness or softness of wood to be perforated. It's a trial and error basis. Usually 90psi is about right for hardwood, be even hardwood can vary in density.

It's light and hasn't ever jammed on the one upholstery project I've used it on. For me, it has one major drawback: the safety contact is too far ahead of the nose (probably about a half-inch) to allow firing the stapler in close quarters. A better arrangement is to have the safety contact surround the nose. I'm reupholstering an old wing chair, and it's been a challenge to attach the piping and flexible metal tack strips accurately. I'd recommend this stapler as a general-purpose tool, but not for upholstery.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from AWESOME staple gun!! I've been building cabinets and furniture for almost 15 years. I've been looking for a staple gun with a 3/8 crown for awhile now but the guns I found online were just too expensive. Leave it to Home Depot to bring home the win with a good quality gun for a awesome price! This gun uses regular T-50 staples. It has plenty of driving power and will sink every staple into softwoods such as pine or spruce, where hand staplers sometimes leave the staple sticking up a bit or "un-sunk". The Freeman Fine Wire Stapler will even shoot staples into hardwoods like oak and maple. (I did notice on oak and maple, it sometimes curls up the edges of the staples, but they can easily be flattened out with a hammer) This gun is lightweight, well built, small and compact. Very nice in-hand feel with this gun also. Smooth magazine travel makes loading and unloading staples a breeze! Adjustable exhaust port keeps the air from blasting air in your face when shooting staples. I usually use a 1/4 crown stapler to shoot 1/4 inch plywood on my cabinet backs, but now I will be using this gun instead! Its perfect for stapling wood to wood, screen to wood or even fabric to wood. Also great for upholstery work! Super fast shipping too. I got it within 2 days from the HD website. I'm 100% satisfied with this gun. I would recommend it to anyone. I look forward to using this gun on many projects in the future!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Quality! Well Built! I bought this to help me when I build bee hive frames and to staple the wooden strips down that hold the foundation (comb) in place. That's 10 frames per hive body and I did more than a hundred frames with 3 staples each. Not a single misfire. This stapler shoots standard T50 staples from 3/8" to 9/16" and it does a great job. It's well built and it feels like quality. I have nothing negative to say about it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Appears to be well made I purchased this stapler to reupholster the seat on one of my ATV's. I had tried both a manual and electric stapler that I already owned, but was unable to reach down into the recessed area I needed to get to. I found this online and could tell by the pictures the nose of the stapler should reach like I needed. It worked like a charm! I have only used it for this one project so far, but I think it will be my first choice now for any staple project needs in the future.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This Product is lite and easy to use. Well built and shots the standard wire staples used in hand gun staplers. Great for large jobes that use many fastners. Upholstery and cabinet assembly.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Ok product Bought it to do 6 chairs. After the 4th chair it jammed. Took about 20 minutes to clear the jam. Then jammed again on the 5th chair and had to take apart the gun to clear the jam but the bolts on the gun strip easily. When it doesn't jam it works perfectly.

I've had an air compressor for years, using it mainly for nails, brads and inflating tires. Wish I would have invested in this unit years ago. Makes big stapling projects a breeze! Used it most recently to staple kraft backed insulation to studs during a remodeling project. Saved time and effort required. Nice and lightweight unit, but looks like its built for the long haul. Just adjust air pressure on compressor for required job and you're in business. Purchased on line and shipped to the store for pickup. Fast shipment and great price! Thanks!
