We really wanted to like this washer, but it has 2 big problems.
1. It has a design flaw that means any small articles of clothing (like kids's socks) get caught in the front of the washer and don't get washer or spun dry - they just come out wet and dirty.
2. The hot wash isn't hot. Â It just keeps trying to pull in more hot water and obviously doesn't have any kind of thermostat. It's pretty frustrating when you want to do a hot wash to sanitize things.
I wouldn't buy this washer again, and wouldn't recommend it.

I am extremely pleased with the performance of my new Affinity HE front load washer. I have never used a front load machine before but the Affinity's controls and cycles were so intuitive and easy to use that I became an instant fan. It's compact size and design fitted perfectly in my small wash closet and the stylish design looks great. The Affinity Front Load Washer is quiet and efficient...a great value at an affordable price.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0Â by hellokitty after buying 2 used units I needed a break
We bought this washer & matching dryer for a rental unit. Renters can be very hard on appliances, We bought a used top loader(stacked set) that lasted 3 months, then bought a used front loader set that lasted less then 45 days! We needed something with a warranty. So far this set is good. We live above the rental unit and it's not as loud as either previous set, the renter says she loves it, the clothes are almost dry when they come out of the wash, the spin is very quiet. I am hoping for water savings as we pay the utilities and the water bill was getting out of control!

I bought this machine after doing a lot of research. I was especially excited about being able to wash blankets and the high-efficiency. I have had this washer for 4 years and I'm so grateful bought the extended warranty. I had to have it serviced 3 times. The water now leaks out of the door because the rubber has cracked and is moldy. I cleaned the washer regularly and followed the manual. My warranty just ran out and it is going to be $350. to fix because the parts are so expensive. I'm going back to a top loader.

I purchased this machine because CR rated it as a "best buy" meaning that all things considered, (cost, features, reliability, durability) it's a good pick. It's not as feature rich as other machines but most people don't use those sophisticated wash cycles found on costly machines. I built my own pedestal that is tall enough for a laundry basket to slide under out of 3/4 inch plywood and 2x6 wood. I found a do it yourself video on U-tube so I built it myself. Installation was easy but the technician left without showing me how to open the door. There is no door handle visible, as you face the machine it is on the inside right lip of the door. I also purchased the braided stainless steel hoses for better performance. Keep the door open between loads to prevent mildew in the drum. I will repost after I've had the machine for six months,, then again at 1 year. I recommend you purchase the warranty, this is good planning for ANY machine these days as one repair pays for the cost of the plan. Home Depot has an excellent warranty program and their service so far has been good.
