Does this item ship folded in half?

The last time I installed a similar replacement the item arrived folded in half, making it much more difficult (if not impossible) to straighten out for a good installation and weather seal. I don't want to get into that mess again. I'll travel to a store (50- to 75-miles) and pick the item up to avoid this if possible.

Answer:
no! it comes as one long straight strip with no folds and it is NOT coiled. the UPS guy delivered it and I thought one of my kids had ordered a fishing pole, but it was the weatherstripping. for me, this was a huge plus!

I understand that the part with the magnet attached fits into the kerf of the door, but what about the non-manegtic part? Where does that go? My door only has the section with the magnets. Thank you

Answer:
The "non-magnetic" strip goes onto the door jamb at the hinge side. When the door closes it squeezes the rubber to seal.

Answer:
Old seal can be removed by lifting one end out of slot and then pulling the remainder out of slot!! New magnetic seal is then pressed into slot starting at one end and then continued to the other end and trim if necessary!! No nails or glue are necessary!! Check to make sure magnetic strip seals against inside of steel door when finished installing!!

This product will not fill a 3/4" gap. However, a foam tape 3/4" wide will take care of the gap problem.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Magnetic Wheather Strip Quality product and Excellent Pricing! Perfect replacement. August 2, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Magnetic door seal kit Material supplied was not magnetic. It was foam filled compression type seal. It is betterthannothing but not what I expexted July 26, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by better than I expected I have purchased weather stripping before and it arrived coiled in a package. I spent most of the install time trying to straighten it out so I could install it. This great product, however, arrived as a long straight package. I was amazed. I took it out of the package, made a few cuts for size, and it was ready to install, all of 20 minutes start to finish. Definitely buy! June 28, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Magnetic door seal replacement kit This replacement kit was used to replace the original door seal in my (condo) front door. The old door seal (original one) had a very robust magnet in the seal. The magnet was considerably thicker than what was in the replacement seal (which did not stick to the door as strongly). Otherwise I would have rated it "5 stars". The vinyl was noticeably thinner as well (This seems to be the basic philosophy in America today -- "make it cheaper than the last one"). There are some of us customers that would pay for higher quality where its needed (i.e. front door seals). I searched high and low and Home Depot was the only store around that had a replacement magnetic door seal (and only online). July 15, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Best online value Arrived quickly and was easy to install. It took only 10 minutes to remove old and install new door seal. May 31, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Magnetic Door Seal It matched what was previously on the door, had no issues with installation. May 17, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by The white lets light through, making it hard to tell if it's actually sealing Perfect replacement. Comes a couple inches long so trimming was necessary. The white lets light through. Between the magnet and the kerf. I was going to rip it off and take it back to Home Depot for a refund, thinking it wasn't sealing, but last second realized that's what was going on; it's translucent. Will be tough to tell when this one goes bad over time as it already lets light through. Also looks weird if in a non super lit up place. Will buy beige or whatever they have in the store next time. Also, could buy 4 sets of the non-magnetic stuff for the cost. Maybe try that next time. November 14, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good insulation for my worn out door Easy to install and perfect fit. Entire process took 20 minutes and sealed my door. March 29, 2016
