Customer Questions & Answers

Where can I get a winter cover for my new Frigidaire AC unit?

The unit is 30.5" X 30.5" X 41" H, and I can't find a cover with those dimensions. We live at 7,200 ft elevation and get a lot of snow
Asked by: Biscuit
Thank you for your recent inquiry with The Home Depot, Biscuit. Unfortunately we do not carry an ac cover in that size. We appreciate your business and look forward to serving you in the future. Thank you for shopping Home Depot.

How do these withstand weather. Will they soak up rain waters and be an issue or are they weather proof

Asked by: Nes
They are not Weatherproof from the outside, if water hits them they will absorb the moisture.

Can I use these side panels to eliminate height gaps on a casement window?

I need a casement window ac. There is a 15" height gap I have to close with an insulation panel. Can I use your side panel to close a vertical rather an horizontal opening?
Asked by: Anonymous
These panels are made to use with a standard window A/C unit. If this A/C has plastic side panels, then the foam panels can be used over the plastic side panels

Customer Reviews

E/O 9 in. x 18 in. Foam Insulating Side Panels for Air Conditioners (2-Pack) is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 8.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from works okay, hard to keep from bowing, but I have original sides still on a/c so okay I bought these to keep out the air and bugs and reinforce the panels on the a/c. It works for this, but does bow in some and needs to be taped to stay in place. Works for my needs.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not a quality product The edges were cut unevenly at the factory -- just sloppy work (and this is on two packages of them, not one anomaly). Also, the adhesive gave way within five minutes; not sure how we'll be securing these to the air conditioners now. But the biggest complaint of all? They soak up water. As in rain. Not sure who thought that was a good idea.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy peasy Easy to install and much more efficient than the original panels, which I replaced completely.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy install Easy to install, and provides a good thermal barrier. These panels also block light really well..., bonus!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy to Install Trimmed to fit and installed. Room is holding the cool air and leaving the warm air out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from They work! Finally found something that could be adjusted to fit around different sized window air conditioners. Just takes a little measuring & cutting. The foam is easy to cut through - I recommend cutting it slightly larger that the dimensions you'll need (due to the foam "squishing" down as you cut) in order to assure a tight seal around the edges. Make sure you have a saw that can cut threw the lightweight metal brace - it's very easy to do!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works good Nothing special to report. You trim to fit and press into place to keep Winter's chill out.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good quality, as advertised This product was exactly as advertised. For me they were a bit too long, which was my fault. I used them anyway and they are doing the trick of keeping the cold air out of the sides of the A/C unit. Could not find in stores so ordered online.
