Had to replace old style aluminum ridge due to bad original install(occasional leaks) . The cobra vent is easy to install, just make sure you use longer nails than the ones that come with it if not using a nail gun. Unfortunately, I noticed almost immediately that my 2nd level was hotter in the summer. Then after some very cold winter days, I went into the attic to find condensation everywhere. Never had this problem until I installed this vent. I think it is just too low profile and does not allow enough air flow. As soon as spring is here, I will replace this ridge vent with the "baffle" type that is supposed to be the best ridge vent now (especially for snow regions)

This is an excellent product, I have used many different kinds of ridge vents in the past and the Cobra Ridge Vent is by far the easiest to work with not to mention how good it looks when the job is completed. I have just recently used this product on my own house and it just looks great.

This stuff is bad news, very bad news. I would absolutely NOT recommend to install this product.
I had this product installed with my new shingles two years ago. At first, I thought it was great to be done with the rotating Whirly Bird vents, but then I thought that maybe my garage attic was hotter than before. Last winter, the sad realty hit, I realized this product will freeze up and not ventilate. I had major frost build up and when that frost melted, I had dripping onto my ceilings. I now need to repaint half of my mail level ceilings.
Besides the need to repaint my ceilings, of course, I also need to do something for the ridge vent. My choices are to cut in for Whirly Birds, or tear off and replace the Cobra Ridge with something else. Probably going with Whirly Birds....
In summary, buy something else.

too thin to do anything. this was installed on my house by a professional. The ridge now dips, waves, and looks sloppy. in the best circumstances the product only allows for MAYBE a 3/8 inch ventilation. In my case, because of uneven nailing there are many places where the product is completely compressed allowing for no airflow - which defeated the purpose of the vent system. Given you have to manually install the shingles over the vent material I can't imagine ever getting any significant ventilation or a nice even roof-line using this.

I'm not sure if I cut the roofline down to far or not, but this stuff dipped right into the cut. So the rooflin looked like it sagged in the middle. I tore it all out and put the ridgid plastic in.
