Is this dimmable? Specs. say no, yet the photo of the product indicates it is dimmable and w/ an incondesent dimmer and not an electronic dimmer?

Asked by: summer01
I do not see how it could be considered dimmable since it requires a minimum 50 watt load.

Can I mount this inside a low voltage box outside to run a 60 watt 12 volt led accent light?

Asked by: Hud
technically you cannot mix the 120v line wires w low voltage wiring but if there is a feed in the box, there should be no problem.120v needs 600v insulation for wires, the low v has 300v insulation

Lightech 150-Watt 12-Volt Electronic Transformer is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 10.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Didn't work Voltage kept dropping for each light, a series of 5 under counter lights. First light was bright, next dimmer and so on, last light not so bright. Replaced this transformer with a different brand, same specs and it works fine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lightech 150-Watt 12-Volt Electronic Transformer I had a hard time finding this item in the stores and Home Depot had it on there site. It was delivered in a timely manner.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from ELECTRONIC transformer?? I did not realize this was an electronic transformer, which means it has not only a maximum load rating but also a minimum load rating. My application did not meet the minimum load requirement so as of yet it has not outputted 12 volts. I have ordered a power resistor to load up the transformer in hopes it will function as needed but it has not arrived yet. If it works after installing the resistor I will be happy, otherwise I will be buying a real transformer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Purchase and Best Price..... The Lightech was east to install and the wattage was enough not to over heat from use.It was a replacement for a transformer that was twice the size and kept over heating and stop working. In all it does a great job...

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Performs as advertised; NOTE minimum load is 50 watts Specifications did not include minimum load specification of 50 watts. If you upgrade from incandescent to LED lighting in the future, you may not meet the minimum load specification.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Small, easy to install and runs alot cooler than my old ones Had the old style regular transformer, these run cooler, smaller and are reasonable in price. I recommend. They have been installed for a couple of months now. They power 3 20 watt halogen bulbs.
