Customer Questions & Answers

will the light come on automatically in the dark?

Asked by: KJJ
The night light part comes on automatically. The flashlight (when it is plugged into the wall, charging, and being used as a nightlight--on "auto" setting) will come on if the power goes out.Otherwise the flashlight must be turned "on" to work.

How do I change the battery

When the power went off , the device did not light
Asked by: bigleo
Bigleo, unfortunately there is no way to change the battery in this nightlight. If you have verified that the outlet that the night light was plugged into is good and that the night light was plugged in all of the way and the night light doesn’t operate in flashlight mode or if the power goes out then you will need to contact technical support about getting it replaced. What is the footcandle power of this flashlight?

Asked by: Anonymous
Cant tell you the lumens, but can tell you that the output is feeble at best, esp. when under battery power (when you need it most).

Can you set this night light to be motion sensitive, so it only comes on when there is movement in the room, or when it gets dark is it on all the time?
Asked by: 4boys
No, unfortunately this night light does not come with motion-sensing capabilities.

This is not a great flashlight but seems to do what we wanted. We would rather have a replacement Garrity rechargeable flashlight that plugs into the wall like the one we had before, but they no longer seem to be available. The advantage to this one is that the bottom part functions as a bright nightlight for our hallway, automatically turning on when illumination is low.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great light for emergencies We just went through a hurricane and had no power for 14 hours. We've had one of these nightlight/flashlights that we've used as a nightlight for several months--maybe a year or more. Because we've plugged it in often, the flashlight was fully charged. We had it plugged in the wall and were using it as a nightlight when the power went out and it automatically converted to an emergency flashlight. There's no battery to replace; it recharges from being plugged in. The prongs for plugging it in can fold into the device so they don't stick out if you want to use it as a flashlight. It can be laid down on a table or set upright with the flashlight pointing up if you want to use the light hands-free. It remained lit for several hours--maybe 4?. It's simple to use and was great for immediate use during the hurricane. It's small but the flashlight is quite bright for its size. We used it in a child's room and it helped immensely when he woke during the storm and it wasn't completely dark.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Night Light or Power Loss Emergency Light I love this. Purchased a few to place in strategic places to navigate safely in the dark or in case of power failure.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent as night light or flashlight I have one in almost every room of my home, especially bathrooms. The light is bright enough to see clearly without being blinding. In case of a power failure, it can be used as a flashlight. Just plug it in and forget it. When the room gets dark, the light comes on.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from weak light, poor battery Works better initially, then battery seems to quickly weaken, after a couple months it works as a nightlight (producing minimal light, nowhere near what you would get with a 4 or 7 watt incandescent) and almost not at all as a flashlight (the LEDs under battery power make about as much light a 1-2 lit matches, nowhere near what an LED flashlight produces). NOT RECOMMENDED.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from GE Led Emergency Light Being in South Carolina and coming into hurricane season we bought several of these lights and they've worked exactly as advertised. While we haven't had an actual hurricane to contend with we have tested them on numerous occasions by shutting off the circuit in the breaker box and so far they have not failed us. My wife and I feel completely comfortable that we will have some emergency light if an emergency arises.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Didn't leave me in the dark! As a flash light, when needed during a power outage, it can be easily located because it will be the only thing illuminated in the area. The built-in plug allows you to locate it where you need it and doesn't require a separate charger. One set back though is the quality of light from the three (3) LED's. Light is not very bright and isn't focused. You would only use this flashlight in an emergency.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cheaper at the store, low energy cost, bright This was only 9.95 at the store so I bought 3. They are much brighter than the mini bulbs, they gave 2 lights but one does not come one unless you have a power outage. The other comes on when its dark, and gets brighter when it detects motion. Very cool! .. Not going to miss changing the bulbs in the old ones. (Integrated rechargable battery to use as flashlight)
