Hello kajuntiger - this is Nancy at GE Appliances and I am happy to help you. Yes, this PEB7226SFSS is a great replacement model for your JE1860SH04 microwave. The trim kit for both of these models require similar cabinet cutout dimensions. The old trim kit is not approved for use with the new microwave. I hope this helps! Thanks for checking with us!

Answer:
If your micro is a counter top model then the answer is NO because there are no mounting plates on top of the unit. If you install a shelf above the range then this model can sit on the shelf. If you don't already have this micro then why not buy a range top model and install that? It would be a lot less complicated.

Replacement for earlier model GE Profile MW

I need to replace a 16 - year old GE model JE1860SB 001 that is mounted inside a cabinet, so I would love to find a new one with the exact dimensions of the old one (then I could use the old mounting bracket and trim kit). This countertop model has very similar dimensions, but not exactly the same.

Is there a direct replacement (same outside dimensions) for the JE1860SB?

Thanks,
RZ

2.2 cu. ft. Countertop Microwave in Stainless Steel with Sensor Cooking is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 1504.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from beautiful product I bought a unit in late December of 2015, and a about five weeks ago, the microwave started making a loud buzzing sound and stopped heating. I took it back to the authorized dealer in Nassau Bahamas, only to hear that my six months warrenty was up and the cost of repairs would be more than the initial cost of the product. I love the GE products, my stove, washer and refrigerator are all GE products, but this latest incident with my microwave, has me reconsidering if my future appliance purchases will be GE products or not.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very Good Microwave We unfortunately got some metal wrapped up in a heat pack we were warming and destroyed our old GE Profile microwave. It was a model JE2160 and served us wonderfully for 7 years. This one is essentially the exact same oven in the newest version. The great thing you will find if you are replacing an older GE Profile is that the trim kit has not changed. The old one fit the new one perfectly, thus saving over $200 for a new trim kit. Thank you GE! The only reason this one does not get 5 stars is it makes more noise than our old one. It is not obnoxious or a big deal, but this new model definitely has a noticeably louder sound when running than the older model.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't buy it Literally stopped working a week after the one year limited warranty. We are supposed to have the extra year warranty since we purchased the whole suite during the GE Great American Kitchen Event, but GE says they can't honor it because they "cannot find the paperwork in their records." We won't be buying GE again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Replacement Built-in Microwave We bought this microwave to replace the original GE Profile unit that was built-in when our house was built 10 years ago. This one fit right into the space that the old one did, requiring only that we replace the trim kit because of the slight size difference. Installation was a breeze since I had to do it myself when it arrived. It works great, just like our old one did. My only complaint is that the plastic trim is gray instead of black like the old one, and the "GE Profile" emblem is gone, replaced by a raised GE medalion. That causes it to not match exactly with the built-in GE Profile oven directly below it, but it is close enough not to matter.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor quality and unreliable Nothing but trouble until it completely died and was declared irreparable at approximately 2 years old. First the plastic overlay on the door went bad. They replaced that. Then the door latch quit working. They fixed that. Then it started making irregular noises like the fan was not working, but it was worse that that. The technician came, looked at it, and ordered parts. The 2nd technician came and while attempting to install the parts concluded some irreplaceable part was also bad. So after less than 3 years this GE Profile Microwave is going into the trash. Poor quality, totally unreliable, plus expensive. Avoid.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Choice (so far) Best choice for me, appearance, size, function and cost. Built-in appearance is easy and a real value with Trim Kit JX7230DFWW for white oven and 30 inch opening. Only negative I have is odd placement of function buttons.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from 3 stricks and you are out 3rd Micro wave in this series. First lasted 9 years, 2nd, 3rd 19 months. All had the same problem the magnetron shorted out. I felt GE owed me, but all I got was lip service.
Date published: 2016-09-10
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Died after only two years I wouldn't buy this microwave. We started having trouble with it about six months ago and now it has completely died.
