Why is there reside on my cups and dishes after wash cycle

I started out using the cascade gel detergent on the normal cycle twith boost temperature, steam and dry. The cups came out with a thick residue on the bottom that I cannot get off. I have to throw away my glasses because they are ruined now. I tried to use the cascade complete pods with the sensor cycle without power dry only steam and the plates came out with residue on the back of them. I posted pictures below of them. I don't know what I am doing wrong or if there is a defect with the dishwasher. Any suggestions to get this to stop happening? We have only had it for a week so it's disappointing.

It looks like water is pooling on top of the dishes. I place our glasses at an angle so no water can set on the top during the dry cycle, and they come out clean inside as well even at an angle. If I don't, then this will happen with any washer on the planet. Also, rinse aid will for sure help this some and try and use Cascade Platinum detergent, it costs a bit more but believe me it is worth it. Read More

Make sure the soap cup is not blocked by anything. Do not load large items in the lower rack where they may block the wash jets from rinsing out the detergent dispenser. I know a lot of dishwashers say that they have a stainless steel tub and when you look inside, the very bottom of the tub is some kind of plastic. Can anyone verify that this one is fully stainless? Thanks!

It is one piece so... I'm taking an educated guess and say yes, it is stainless. Btw, the front is thus far the best stainless I have seen as it simply does not scratch easy at all.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by bought the set We bought the dishwasher, stove/oven, microwave, and fridge. The dishwasher is so quiet I forget that im running it. The surface is amazing and easy to clean no finger prints etc. I installed the dishwasher myself and it was the easiest dishwasher I've ever installed. So far i love the purchase. May 24, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by GE Profile dishwasher - stainless interior This was very simple to install and runs almost silently. I had to update my drain hose and redo some copper pipes because I wanted to add a shutoff valve. The drain hose needed changed because of age May 10, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Quiet, sleek, amazing machine for the price! I can't say enough good about this dishwasher, Granted, I've had it for two days, but compared to the one installed in our new house that is only two years old, it operates at whisper level and cleans amazingly. The installation instructions were a bit sketchy--use intuition instead of the instructions and you will be much better off. The cheesy rubber side and top flaps are a joke, too. They don't install easily, and if you put the unit flush they won't work anyway. Minor complaint. Don't waste your money on so-called "deluxe models", for $600 or so you can get one that does it all--this one. The slate color is beautiful, too. July 10, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Garbage Worst PIECE OF GARBAGE I've ever purchased, soap will not dissolve, first couple of washes door didn't even open half the time. GE sent tech to replace door, happened again so tech replaced spray arms now waiting for it to happen again to see what they can replace next. Tech even said these dishwashers give him job security. June 29, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best Dishwasher Ever I don't like using the heated drying in dishwashers my past history, that's the first item that goes bad, however this dishwasher has steam pre-wash buttons and a booster heat wash button when used under normal wash will last 138 minutes, if you open door to remove within 15 minutes of completion - the dishes are practically dry, if run at bedtime and remove dishes in morning you will need to wipe a little condensation off some of the contents, always best to empty within 15 minutes of completion for dryer items be careful if you where glasses you glasses will fog up upon the first time you bend over to remove the first dish that stops within seconds. you'll be amazed how clean everything is,, however i rinse off all food from everything before filling the dishwasher, it's a habit i started fifty years ago and still complete today even though the directions state that isn't necessary, when i was a kid i cleaned dishes in a professioanl dishwasher in restaurants i worked and learned pre-rinse all food off the dishes first and you will not have water spots on the completed washed items. i also leaned to add a couple of cups of white vinegar inside the washer before starting it to prevent water spots. Also this washer is extremely quite! And most importantly all GE appliances are manufactured in the USA with the exception of their microwave ovens. TOO ME THIS IS A BIG PLUS TO SUPPORT THE AMERICAN WORK FORCE!!! June 21, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fantastic I have been using this dishwasher for about 2 weeks now. It does a fantastic job cleaning pots and pans. I made macaroni and cheese in a deep pot then threw it in the dishwasher thinking there was no way it would get it all cleaned. But it came out sparkling. Literally. Don't hesitate to buy! May 31, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Sparkling clean dishes This is an extremely quiet dishwasher. Even my plumber was impressed. June 7, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Replacing original unit with Quality..... Love the look and controls. We will have to wait and see about performance (old dishwasher was there 12.5 years) Slate color is my new favorite. Install went with speed and precision. June 7, 2016
