Easy to install (just pressed the reset button on the Genie garage door itself and pressed remote twice and it recognized the remote). The only issue is that the remote signal releases from the bottom side (the hole side on picture) so if you install this on your car sun visor then you have to lower the visor so signal can go through which is a pain. Hopefully I will get used to that but it is a little annoying!

The range of this unit is awful. Even with a fresh battery, it gets maybe 10-15 of range from the door opener, which means I am sitting in my car AT the garage door, waiting for it to rise. I tested this while in my car and outside of my car, with the garage door open and closed. In each case, I had to stand just outside of my garage for the signal to be received.
For a mere $3 extra, the 37335R is much more functional, with range extending 40 or more feet away, so that I can press the button and have the garage door begin opening on my approach. The nearly insignificant price difference for the night-and-day performance difference makes the G3T-R useless.

I have an older garage door opener (15 yrs), the remote synced fine even though the instructions were for newer models. When leaving the house it'll work fine, but when coming home I can never get it to work on the first try. For it to work I have to pull the car right up to the door, even then I have to push the button multiple times for it to function.
Finally tested it outside of the car, the remote stopped working at around 10ft from the door. My old remote worked from down the street. Disappointing, definitely will impact my decision when I have to replace my motor.

Just purchased at Home Depot. Have Genie Garage Door Opener Intellicode Model 1S550/A purchased May 1999. Programmed remote using Learn Button in 1 minute. Remote works from our street about 75 feet away. Replaced one button old style remote. Paid more than online but can simply take it back to Home Depot if issues.

This product works perfectly with my "Overhead Door" branded garage doors. Syncing involves removing the light covers from the two motors, pressing a button on each of the motor housing, which starts an LED flashing, and then pressing one of the three buttons on the remote control until the flashing stops. Do this for each garage door opener, assigning different buttons on the remote control. That is all there is to it. The remote control is nicely made and works well. The remote comes with a replaceable battery already installed. I have been using this remote for over a month now and am happy with my purchase.

I bought two of these units for use in different vehicles. They both perform equally well while OUTSIDE of the vehicle - I can open the door from inside the house (about 40 yards). When clipped to the visor, however, they seem to have limited range - and I mean less than 20 feet. I do not know if this is caused by GPS or satellite radio interference in the vehicle, or possibly tinted windows, but nevertheless, I have to remove the unit from the visor and point directly toward the receiver to activate the door. Might be a bigger hassle to some than others.
