Answer:
no, your single press switch should be inside garage in secure location, this keypad works for outside access without opener remote, they both will work together

Answer:
Yes, it basically acts as a remote like the one you would keep in your car. It doesn't impact the single press which are wired in.

Answer:
No. This is an additional way of opening and closing. You put it on the wall outside so that people who don't have the car button can get in. I've been using this for well over a year and I love it.

Answer:
Not if you replace them within a reasonable amount of time. A charge is held inside by capacitors to be used if there is an interruption of power (dead batteries, or replacing batteries). If replaced within 10-14 days, nothing will be lost.

Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 113 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Keyless keypad I bought this keypad to have a second device to gain entry into my garage/house. I had no problems setting this up with my Genie garage opener system. Just remember this unit is for older systems and you have to look at your dip switches on either your garage door opener remotes or the main garaged door opener motor and read the directions to install the unit. I just took the remote apart and looked at the dip switches in there and then went by the direction and programmed the unit. August 21, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works just fine Bought one to add to a garage that didn't have a keyless entry. Took a couple of tries to setup the programming. Was originally standing too close to the actual opener. Moved back a few feet and the programming worked as instructed. To get the placement holes set correctly, first put in the top screw. Then hang the unit loosely and use the hole in the bottom of the unit to mark the second drill point. Remove the unit and drill the bottom hole. Then put the unit back on the wall and snug it down on top and bottom. Liked the unit so much, I bought a second one to replace my mother in-laws unit that broke. August 2, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by recommended...but It was easy to set up. Programming was challenging only because i have an older Intellicode unit. I don't like the fact that it stays active (for about 10 seconds) after i enter the code. I know it's extreme but if someone is watching and comes behind me during that 10 seconds of activity (if i'm not paying attention) they have an opportunity to get into my garage and perhaps my home just by pushing any button on the keypad. I jsur need to make sure i'm accountable for that 10 seconds before i do anything else. August 3, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Could be better I can't stand manufacturers not using a UV-resistant plastic on their products designed for exterior applications. This yellow opener quit working after 2 years. Out of the package, you had to mash the buttons to get it to work. Not impressed with it. September 6, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Worth the Purchase The Genie keyless entry pad was easy to install and set-up. It was worth the purchase as it provides a useful tool to access your garage in an expedious manner. It was truly worth the 30 dollar cost. August 30, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by excellent opener keypad excellent wireless garage door keypad was easy to install, two screws, and easy to program August 31, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Genie garage door opener It works as proposed. Wish it had a button to turn light on without opening door. August 30, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Secure Garage Opener We have purchased multiple units of this product and find them to be very well made, attractive and long lasting. We use ours as the primary in/out to our home and it gets 10x the amount of use that a normal garage door opener gets. Batteries are easy to replace, signal to mechanical opener remains strong and product appearance is very good. August 16, 2016
