I have a genie garage door opener and decided to finally break down and get the numeric keypad. I was hesitant because I was concerned about physically installing it. I had programmed a new remote and knew that genie products were pretty easy to program so that wasn't my concern. After speaking with someone and them telling me it's just a couple of holes to drill I decided to purchase it. Like I was informed... it was THAT easy to do. The programming took just a few minutes. I was able to program two garage doors to the one remote. I also did the same PIN for both doors. From my understanding, it sounded like you could program two different PINs for each door if you wanted. You also can set up a temporary PIN. Your PIN can be from 4-8 digits. Another thing I did was spray paint the outside cover so it matched my frame to my garage door. That was simple as well.. I was able to pull the door off easily and re-install it and I just used some spray paint I found and it turned out really well. All in all... very simple project that's already come in handy. It comes with the screws you need to install it.. you just need the proper sized drill bit.

Bought one to add to a garage that didn't have a keyless entry. Took a couple of tries to setup the programming. Was originally standing too close to the actual opener. Moved back a few feet and the programming worked as instructed. To get the placement holes set correctly, first put in the top screw. Then hang the unit loosely and use the hole in the bottom of the unit to mark the second drill point. Remove the unit and drill the bottom hole. Then put the unit back on the wall and snug it down on top and bottom. Liked the unit so much, I bought a second one to replace my mother in-laws unit that broke.

I had an older genie door opener that had broke. I'd usually have to enter the code 4+ times to get it to work. This new one however takes 1 time and works perfect every time. Easy install and easy instructions.

It was easy to set up. Programming was challenging only because i have an older Intellicode unit. I don't like the fact that it stays active (for about 10 seconds) after i enter the code. I know it's extreme but if someone is watching and comes behind me during that 10 seconds of activity (if i'm not paying attention) they have an opportunity to get into my garage and perhaps my home just by pushing any button on the keypad. I jsur need to make sure i'm accountable for that 10 seconds before i do anything else.
