can these panels be cut smaller, like to 8 feet long?

I am building a raised garden, and only need these to be 8 feet long. Can they be cut, and with what tool? Thank you
Asked by: nica
Home Depot stocks these panels in 8' sections as well as the 12'. Panels can be cut with metal tin snips or a circular saw utilizing a metal carbide tip blade. If using the saw, cut panels from the back side and thoroughly clean off metal shaving as the hot metal shavings will embed themselves in the panel and cause premature surface rust. It is important to wear gloves while handling the panels and safety goggles while cutting. The panels should not come in direct contact with pressure treated lumber or the planting medium, a moisture barrier is required.

Is this type of materials used for loafing sheds? And does it come on an eggshell color?

Also i require 2" self seal tappers
Asked by: WolfPak
Hi, thanks for your question. Yes this panel can be used for both roofing, 2 corrugation overlap recommended, as well as siding, 1 corrugation overlap, giving you 24" coverage. A better option is the 3' wide, SM Rib Panel. The latter offers a sturdier panel with greater width coverage, utilizing fewer panels. Both profiles, along with 2" screws are available in an array of colors and can be special ordered at your local Home Depot store. Light Stone is the color closest to the eggshell you are seeking.

Two; if I want to use these as a tree root barrier and lay them on edge in the 2 ft dep trench, what overlap do you recommend & sealant for overla

Asked by: ok
Galvanized Steel Metal Roofing Panels are really not your best choice for use under ground...constant moisture will cause the panels to rust. However, should you decide to use these try coating the panels, both sides, with a sufficient moisture proofing paint/sealant. As far as overlapping...I wouldn't think you'd need more than 8 inches and the dirt should hold them in place without needing fasteners or sealant. Even with the moisture protection this will be a temporary barrier. Have you considered the Palram (plastic) panels?

12 ft. Corrugated Galvanized Steel 29-Gauge Roof Panel is rated 2.8 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Dented too easy I should have purchased heavier material. This dented very easily
Date published: 2017-05-09
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Way too thin and weak - not worth it This is about half the thickness of corrugated roofing of years past (which is still around 50+ years later). I dont see this lasting more than 10 before corroding through. The galvanized coating is thin and the panels are thin. You get what you pay for I suppose

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Check dimensions At the store, I realized that this panel was actually the same dimensions as the Fabral 2-1/2" 29 GA CORRUGATED 2'X6' product—they both had ridge height of 0.5".

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Provides shade and shelter from the rain Bends pretty easy and needs to be secured well or it will flap in the wind. Does what its supposed to and gives shade and dry shelter.
