My wife and I were looking for an affordable addition to our kitchen. We wanted to create more counter space, which was inundated by small appliances, without disrupting the style and functionality of the area. We purchased the H Storage Unit and transformed our space within the kitchen. We added a few “s” hooks for vertical use of the rack. It lends a nice industrial style without compromising the warm feel of the area. We were able to double the counter space.

I've bought three of these units. Excellent quality for the price. Very similar to the the popular (& expensive) "Metro" shelving. Not only are these units easy to assemble, attractive and sturdy, they are versatile.
The first two units are in my kitchen. I created a 6-shelf pantry (borrowing a shelf from the other unit.) The top two shelves are spaced 5" apart, creating a wine rack. (Love it!) Several black storage crates make deep drawers on lower shelves.
With the other set, I made a 3-shelf kitchen island using just the lower posts and topping the unit with a butcherblock countertop. To make finished unit countertiop height, I cut 5" cut from the top of the posts. The uppermost shelf is positioned 4" from the top creating a platform for utensil drawers (wooden utensil caddies with black metal pulls added.)
Both the kitchen units are on casters -- a worthwhile addition.
My petite kitchen now has lots of storage and additional countertop space.
Unit #3 will provide much-needed storage in my office. And I'll use my remaining extra shelf!

I've used this shelving in the past, so when I changed jobs and needed strong shelving at a reasonable cost, I naturally went back to these. This time around I also bought the optional wheels so I can move shelves around to clean under them. Putting them together is fairly easy and can be done by one person.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by JonP Not as good as what Home Depot used to sell. Not Heavy Duty
I bought these to match the ones I bought at Home Depot 8 years ago. They say Heavy Duty and will hold 360 pounds per shelf. The wire is much smaller than the ones previously marketed as Heavy Duty. Although they might hold 360 pounds evenly distributed. With 100 pounds evenly distributed, they bow quite a bit. The previous ones did not bend or bow and you could probably jump on the middle and hold their shape. The new ones would collapse if you did not distribute the weight perfectly.
They are both built by the same company in China and are easy to assemble.
I wouldn't put 1/2 the weight they claim on them.

Purchased 3 sets of these shelves to organize our storage/excercise room.... utilizing "upward" space instead of floor space. They were fairly easy to assemble - absolutely NO TOOLS NEEDED. And they can be assembled by one person. One hint I would make is when putting on the first shelf - make sure you are pushing down evenly on the shelf - otherwise it will not go down level and you will have a difficult time with the first shelf.... second hint - do not assemble the legs until you get the lower part of the shelves together - then add the upper part of the legs.....but those were a couple things I learned on the very first one out of the box....They are VERY sturdy and are holding a ton of stuff....
We had purchased one previously for our pantry area and it holds a ton of canned goods. This time I was able to purchase three while they were on sale for less than $50 each! What a steal!

This shelving unit does not match up to any of its competitors. First, the paint on the shelving is poorly applied. In some areas, the paint is missing. Secondly, the shelves bend and twist easily while assembling the system. Last, and most importantly, the plastic collars that hold the shelves in place on the posts all slip when fitting the system together. I've used this shelving system made by other brands before. This system does not meet the same standard of quality. Avoid this item and I would question using any similar shelves with the HDX brand on them.
