I don't use this shelf for the same reason as most. I am an avid tennis shoe owner and was storing my shoes in my guest bedroom closet before purchasing this shelf. I am now able to use the closet for what it was intended for. The rack holds about 50 of my shoes easily. It was easy to assemble so that makes it even better. I liked the shelf so much that I ended up buying a second!

My wife and I were looking for an affordable addition to our kitchen. We wanted to create more counter space, which was inundated by small appliances, without disrupting the style and functionality of the area. We purchased the H Storage Unit and transformed our space within the kitchen. We added a few “s” hooks for vertical use of the rack. It lends a nice industrial style without compromising the warm feel of the area. We were able to double the counter space.

We own 8 of these racks now and we use them for a variety of purposes. We've got three of them in the garage. Those hold tools, cans of paint, heavy stuff and lightweight stuff. In our office, we've got two. We use them there to hold PC's, printers, storage boxes of paperwork, mostly heavy items. In our basement, we've got three more. One holds sports and exercise items like weights, bowling balls, yoga supplies and more, while the other two hold shipping supplies, lots and lots of heavy cardboard boxes.
The legs have adjustable "feet" on them so you can level the rack on uneven surfaces. This was really important for us since we're using them on the unfinished floor in the basement.
Overall, these racks are great. I wish they were a bit less expensive, but I guess you get what you pay for. We have NEVER had an issue with the shelves slipping or bowing, no matter what we stack on them. Initially, they are a little tricky to get the clamps positioned correctly for the shelves, but once you figure out how it works, they are a breeze to put together. Also, a big hint... start with the bottom shelf and work your way up positioning the rest of the shelves as you go.

I've bought three of these units. Excellent quality for the price. Very similar to the the popular (& expensive) "Metro" shelving. Not only are these units easy to assemble, attractive and sturdy, they are versatile.
The first two units are in my kitchen. I created a 6-shelf pantry (borrowing a shelf from the other unit.) The top two shelves are spaced 5" apart, creating a wine rack. (Love it!) Several black storage crates make deep drawers on lower shelves.
With the other set, I made a 3-shelf kitchen island using just the lower posts and topping the unit with a butcherblock countertop. To make finished unit countertiop height, I cut 5" cut from the top of the posts. The uppermost shelf is positioned 4" from the top creating a platform for utensil drawers (wooden utensil caddies with black metal pulls added.)
Both the kitchen units are on casters -- a worthwhile addition.
My petite kitchen now has lots of storage and additional countertop space.
Unit #3 will provide much-needed storage in my office. And I'll use my remaining extra shelf!

It is easy to assemble, sturdy and attractive. It is exactly what I needed to store boxes of fabric and craft supplies which can be heavy.. That it is attractive is a bonus.

Brought this yesterday and had my son put it together. It is really strong. I absolutely love it. I have it in my kitchen with my pits and pans on it. I thought I wouldn't like the open storage but turns out it looks fabulous. I plan to take the stuff I put on it off and run back to Home Depot and get castors. Then it will be perfect. I am also gonna get one for my storage shed.
