Mine did not. I used a few electrical conduit single hole straps near the top of mine to eliminate the problem. They can usually be found for around $0.25 each.... which I consider cheap insurance.

No. The shelving unit comes with the poles that screw together, collets (the plastic brackets that snap together and hold the shelves in place) and the shelves. Other than the assembly instructions, nothing else comes with this kit.

These things happen in retail... I know... I've been there.
Good luck, and you've made a great purchase regardless.

I did a 'work around' for my own issue and have NOT given them a call, so I have no clue as to the cost of each additional shelf or the expected shipping costs. It seems that Prospace is the actual manufacturer of the shelves for Home Depot, in looking at their reply to several other shelf questions.
Just be sure to carefully watch the overall weight limits of each shelf and of the overall unit itself. 350 pounds on the shelves (well distributed) and the overall unit limit is 1750 pounds. Adding additional shelves will not change the overall unit weight limit.
The shelves themselves and the overall construction of the units are of a better quality than I expected them to be - to be honest. We now own 4 of their units in 2 different sizes and are waiting for the right size to go on sale to pick up a few more (I'm a tight wad at heart) LOL.

Wheels are available for an additional $19.99. Definately worth adding to the shelves. They move easily even with fully loaded shelves. I'm redoing garage with a fleet of these. Push them all together in a corner and rearrange as needed for access. Great product.

5-Shelf 36 in. W x 16 in. L x 72 in. H Storage Unit is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 481.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor shelving unit I've bought several HDX wire shelving units in the chrome/bare metal finish and have always found them to be sturdy and good quality. I bought this unit because I needed this specific size, but it was only available in a black finish—I'm not sure whether it's the manufacturing of the components or the paint on the metal but this unit was useless. The plastic sleeves that hold the shelves up would slip down (causing the whole shelf to drop) if more than 5–10lbs of weight was put on them. It also took way longer to assemble than normal and didn't sit level on a flat floor once it finally was together. To be clear the fault was in the leg uprights and possibly the shelf pieces, not the plastic sleeves. I'd highly recommend HD's other wire shelves, the chrome ones, but not this one.

I have nearly two dozen similar shelves to this and this is the poorest quality shelves of the lot. The recessed rings on the bars are so shallow that the plastic grips keep slipping while you're trying to assemble them. The result is you place the grips on the bars, you lower the shelf into place, and one or two of the grips slips down a notch, so then you have to pound the shelf loose, move the grips back into place and try it again. A few of the grips slipped SO much that we had to do this four or five times to complete the shelves. VERY frustrating, and now I don't trust the shelves to put anything heavy on them.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointed with black wire shelving. I bought the black wire storage unit because the chrome was out of stock. The poor quality control of the powder coating thickness allowed it to be to thick. The thickness of the powder coating made the location and locking grooves too shallow. This indentation for the tapered locking pieces was insufficient to reliably retain the shelves via the tapered locking halves. I had previously bought 5 of the chrome storage units, which were easy to assemble because of the positive engagement of the tapered locking halves that locate the shelves!

But those clip on shelf brackets don't really have good ridges inside of them to hold onto the grooves on the poles. The clip on shelf brackets are standard design that you see on similar shelve units, but the ones here are not that great. They also don't "click" tightly together so when you slide the shelf down onto them, sometimes these brackets slip out of the groove. so then you have to bang loose the shelf then reset that one or two loose bracket and try again. Yes, its sort of a compression hold but I would not trust for really heavy items. Otherwise, its okay for general storage needs. In my case for medium to light weight groceries stuff in the basement. The gauge of the wire shelves are slightly thinner than other brands that are out there, so for the price, you get what you paid for essentially.

I also bought the 4-pack of wheels that goes with it and am using the shelf as a PORTABLE NURSERY. Shelves hold 12 Jiffy Professional Greenhouse trays! All vegetables and flowers were started from seed in the planting trays, and once the seedlings grew I replanted in small pots and keep them in the trays to water from the bottom up. Each morning I wheel the PORTABLE NURSERY outside so the new plants get some sun. And each evening I wheel the PORTABLE NURSERY into my kitchen to protect the baby plants from the wind and cold until I am ready to plant them in my garden. My PORTABLE NURSERY has pots of basil, spinach, lettuce, parsley, beets, sunflowers, zinnias and morning glory.... all waiting to be set in their special place in the garden. There is even room on the bottom for buckets, tools, dirt, etc. to keep your nursery neat. I HIGHLY recommend this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for an entertainment center I have purchased this item several times, I use the smaller version as a mirovwave stand and the larger black one as an entertainment center to hold my large flat screen. I just dress it up a bit with some nice fabric.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great starter shelving This product was very easy to assemble, looks great and is a great shelving unit to hold all of my motorcycle gear. Definitely recommend for the price.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from OK for light weight objects. These units turned out to be everything I expected them to be for the price. These will serve my purpose well, and the price was good. Light weight - but not meant to hold heavy things like water or magazines. Buy something stronger for heavier objects. Easy to assemble with 2 people; cumbersome by yourself. I did it by myself. I suggest using 2 quick release clamps and "V-blocks" to temporarily hold the wedges in place while you set a shelf. Otherwise they tend to drift out of place as you drive the shelves down on the wedges. They thoughtfully provide an extra set of plastic wedges in case you break some. As with all shelves like this, it is tedious to decide where to set the wedges that hold the four corners of each shelf, and get them at the same level all around. Once you set them in place, it's no fun changing your mind later. So plan ahead about what you are going to put on each shelf. The wheel set is great for me. I can get more storage because I can butt shelf units back-to-back. If I need something in the middle, just push the other units aside until the one I want is accessible. However, the locking mechanism on the 2 castors is flimsy and only lock the wheel, not the pivot point.
