Answer:
From the HALO (cooper industries) website, yes they can be used with LED lights. The IC cans tend to be much heavier because they are built to handle the heat put off by incandescent lights.

I don't believe so. Once you install these, getting access to the wiring box would require breaking into the ceiling. The wiring box is attached to, but separate from, the actual light can.

Answer:
Dear valued consumer, yes. The “bucket” of the housing has three screws that can be removed and the “bucket” can be pulled through the hole, giving access to the j-box. The j-box has an access plate on both sides.

I'm not sure, my application was wood rafters. You might have to purchase the type of can used for retro-fit.

Answer:
As I recall, according to the directions, these can be used above a damp area, like a shower, so I would have no issues installing one in the ceiling of a covered porch. As long as the roof is water tight so no water is getting in from above, it should do fine.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Halo can lights Ease of use, longevity of product and ability to be placed next to insulation make it a no-brainer. Good price, also. October 28, 2016

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect lighting! Bought 14 of these babies...works great for my basement finishing project! March 22, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Easy to install right out of the box With these recessed lighting fixtures, it was easy to adjust with-in the bracket to line up all the lights in 2 directions. March 11, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Fairly easy to install. VERY easy to wire If you are finishing a room, which we were doing, these recessed can lights are a great option. They are not as easy to install as I would like. They come with nails ready to go, but I found that I often could not get the nails in easily. I ended up using the optional screw holes to secure the lights. Of course, you have to do this one handed because one hand is holding up the light while the other is securing the feet to a joist. If you are installing more than one and need them to line up, you have to be decent with math and be able to measure. These can shift back and forth on the legs in one direction, so you'll need to ensure that they are lined up in the OTHER direction before securing them. By far, the easiest part is wiring them. You merely pop off the cover, and you are presented with the three leads: hot, neutral, and ground. You merely strip about 1/4" or so of wire and push the the wire in. You'll "feel" that it's secured. There is room for up to three connections, so you can run the line in from the power source and then feed two other fixtures from that point. There are even grommets to allow the wires to safely enter the wiring box. That aspect is very well thought out and why I prefer these recessed lights to others. January 26, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent and easy to install. My job was a remodel where the ceiling was removed. The junction box has plenty of room and 3 punch outs to accept wiring. the connections are all push in and accept three different feed wires also. Very easy to install and use. Worked great with the LED fixtures installed. December 8, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Buy halo buy the best!!! Never had a problem with any Halo product in 20yrs of elecrical work. Great parts! January 14, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by I like it Whoever designed this definitely had ease of installation in mind. This a breeze to install. I just installed four of them and my wife wanted an additional one. "No problem!", I said. After 10 minutes, we had another one installed. The wire-nut-less installation is GREAT! Just strip the wire about 1/2" and shove it in the connector. The only difficult part was clipping the sliding bars to make it fit in a space less than 16 inches. I had to pinch it with lineman's pliers and wiggle it quite a bit to get it to break.
