Just had a new deck put on our home and purchased this pergola to give us some shade. Not only does it provide us shade during the hottest time of day but it gave the new deck a completely finished look!. It looks very sharp and we are getting rave reviews on our home improvement. We like the fact the awning "gives" during high wind gusts preventing the structure from stress and lowering the chance of tears. The awning filled with water during the first rain but we pulled it back under the protecting cover that is attached and had no rain problems the second rain. It came with all the pieces and seems to be a very solid structure. Definitely takes two people and a good three hours to build. Looking forward to many happy memories this summer on our new deck with pergola!

We got this to put over our hot tub and it works beautifully. We love the retractable roof, so we can keep open for the stars or close for the rain. We added the panels for extra privacy.

The title of this product is STEEL Pergola, the only steel is in the four "feet". The pergola is made of aluminum which will not rust, I added a privacy screen made of sun screen purchased at home depot. I folded the six foot wide roll in half and stretched it and stapled it to p/t 1" x 4", I also used tapcon screws to secure four concrete pads to add stability.

I purchased this item thinking it would be a great addition to my home. Given the fact that a wooden one would be generally more money. I took all items out of the box and found paint missing on a handful of the parts. Not really worrying about it I started the assembly only to be more discouraged seeing that brackets didn't line up. Tho, I am mechanically inclined and rather a good fabricator I pressed on. Only to finally ready to give as the uprights for the product easily stripped at the slightest torque. after getting it together and spending another 20 on brackets and hardware I had it somewhat stable. I contact the store manager which refused to talk to me face to face and they recommended that I take it apart and bring it back for a new one. I wasn't overly impressed with that. The manufacture stated they would send me new parts if I wanted but my modifications made it structurally more sound than what they would send me. All in all I do like it and with some nice lights it looks good.

Beautiful and sturdy. My handyman assembled and installed it alone Ina few hours. Looks wonderful. Magnet/closing doesn't keep it closed in strong wind - but that is OK with me. I stuck adhesive hooks onto two of the legs to hang lights for evening use.

I love my new pergola; it's the perfect size for a small outdoor space. My handyman put it together, it took him about 90 minutes. He mounted it on cement pavers so that he didn't have to drill into my cement slab.

We needed something that would provide shade on our deck and due to the size of our deck we couldn't find a canopy that would fit beyond an umbrella due to the angles until we came across this pergola. My son and I put it up in about 3 and a half hours. Definitely takes two to three people to do it right. The quality is very good. Metal is pretty thin, but once all the pieces are together and the posts are screwed down, it's pretty sturdy. Hardest part was putting up the curtain, but it folds up nicely and slides very easily on the tracks. The directions are very good and you need to follow them step by step and be sure all the letters match up just like the pictures. We had a couple rails flipped because we got too far ahead and had to step back, but we caught it in time. Very happy thus far and we are going to try and add roll up blinds for a couple of the sides to help protect from the late afternoon sun.

It's neither the sturdiest nor the flimsiest patio cover out there. We get a lot of wind and several patio umbrellas have gone they way of Dorothy, so we needed something that we could reinforce. We settled on this unit because the price was right and the steel construction seemed thick enough to withstand our delta breeze. When the package arrived there was one dent, but nothing awful. My wife and I were able to put it together in about two hours without too much difficulty. The hard part was lifting it into position after putting on the first two legs, and holding it steady while the other two legs were slipped underneath.
There were a few holes that were not drilled, so you'd be wise to keep some self-tapping screws or a drill on-hand. We built the unit on an existing concrete patio, drilled holes around the legs, hammered rebar into the ground through the holes, and put a 12" tube of concrete around each foot (see pic). It's now quite sturdy and firmly fixed in place. If you don't get a lot of wind, this isn't a necessary step as the unit is pretty heavy: I was able to lift the entire box and move it a few feet at a time. The sliding fabric cover works quite well and was easy to assemble, and the unit looks great in our back yard.
