Answer:
Yes. The track is simply the track. You can mix & match all Hampton Bay and Commercial Electric linear track heads on the track section as long as the track head is a 3 bus track head or compatible with H track.

Most residential wall switches are rated for 15A. If you use the manufacturer recommended bulb (50W R30), each track kit will use 1.25A at 120V AC for a total of 3.75A. That is well below the 15A rating of the switch. If you are going to use LED or CFL bulbs in the track the amperage will be lower.

The real question is "Will your electrical circuit handle the load?". If you are replacing three existing light fixtures a simple way to check this is to add up the maximum wattage for all bulbs in the fixtures you are replacing. If that adds up to 450W or more, your circuit should have no problems with the new track light kits. If it adds up to less than 450W it still might work with the incandescent bulbs (consult an electrician), but consider using LED or CFL bulbs in your new fixture. You will save electricity, and not have to worry about tripping circuit breakers. Read Less

Rated 4.2 out of 5 by 44 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great utility lighting, watch for broken pieces I bought three of these for lighting in a craft area in my basement. Installed and wired all three rails, then took the fixtures out to mount them. Of the nine fixtures, three had broken trim rings (see photo). Called to inquire about replacement parts, but was told they are not available. My only option would be to return the entire order for an exchange. I wasn't about to go through the hassle of taken them all down. I was given a 10% discount off my order for my trouble, Second issue is the width of the wiring coveer. It needs to be about 1/4 inch longer to cover a standard electrical box. Had to get creative with drywall compound. I recommend purchase, but check for broken trim riings before installing anything so you can get an exchange. Pros - Great price, easy installation Cons - Quality of the trim rings, wiring cover not large enough to cover standard electrical box. February 24, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Basic but a great item I got 2 of these for my living room, and they were very easy to install, the white cover that came with the product that covers the wiring, I was not able to install it, but for where I needed to install them, it didn't matter. February 23, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great improvement good task lighting Easy to install and provides great task lighting while looking great March 12, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by So close to being a good design, with one unforgivable error Whoever installed the lights I'm replacing didn't put in boxes; he just drilled holes in the ceiling. I decided to install an old-work box since this light is designed to screw into a box. After I got almost done with the installation I realized that not only does the cap not completely cover an old-work box, the screws that hold the cap in place are spaced just slightly wider than the inside opening of the box, so they can't even be screwed in. The cap is also not deep enough to sit flush against the drywall. If the would have made it 1/2" wide all around and 1/8" deeper it might have worked, but it's useless the way it is. July 18, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Most sticky labels award In general, I am quite happy with this new track light. It looks nice and lights quite well. My only complaint is that each of the four individual light heads has not one, not two, not three, but four sticky labels to make sure that I don't use a bulb with too high of a wattage. In reality, I suspect that one appropriate label could be used, and at most four. And naturally if you try to remove any label, the adhesive does not come with the label, but remains on the head assembly. Fortunately, with the lights on, you can't actually see the ugly labels or abandoned adhesive. July 21, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Inexpensive way to light multiple directions Very easy assembly and installation. Kit had everything needed to complete the project except light bulbs. October 13, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice Kit The track kit was simple to install after I retrofit an 'old work box' into the ceiling. I equipped the fixture with 3 CFLs and they brighten the area much better than the 4' fluorescent light did. June 3, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by New Light Fixture Looks great in my basement which I'm remodeling. Good price for quality and appearance. I was not the one who install it but he had some problems. But it was the first time he ever installed a light fixture like this one. May 24, 2016
