How do you get the old bulb out?

Asked by: Vince
This is the worst issue concerning this light bar. If you haven't done so, purchase the replacement bulb and study the two pins on the back of the bulb. You'll be turning the bulb about 1/8 of a turn counter clockwise. You will need something that can grip the face of the bulb near the rim. We have a 4" x 4" "rubber sheet" that can be used to Grip a stubborn lid on a jar. Look in a kitchen wares shop if you are not familiar with this. I've included a picture. I've found the best results working the bulb with my thumbs on top flat face near the rim using the gripping rubber material. Note you will have the same difficulty installing the new bulb. I recommend that you use an LED bulb as they are supposed to last for years! Best wishes. If anyone else has discovered a better solution, please post! One thought I've had, "Do they make a rubber suction cup about the size of the bulb?"

Can this specific light be placed on a dimmer?

Asked by: MrsAston
Yes. Assuming the bulbs are dimmable as well as the wall switch.

Is there anyway to replace the frosted glass? I broke one and seems senseless to replace whole fixture

Asked by: Vince
There are no replaceable parts available for this fixture.

This may seem like a joke but im 100% serious. How do you replace the bulbs? I've tried to unscrew them but won't work.

Asked by: Notajoke
Get a rubberized piece of material such as one that you would use to open a stubborn Jar, Place on flat surface of bulb and turn counter clockwise about 1/8 of a turn. Look at the replacement bulb before you start to get an idea what you are looking dealing with.

We have an 8' ceiling and the light is very directional. Over a sink with a wall on the other side the lights can be positioned such that coverage is sufficient. in a center of kitchen area where light has to be thrown: Left, Right, Front, and Back, there will be gaps in coverage. Pros- Unit looks sharp! Easy to install, but need a second person to hold the fixture whilst the performing the wiring. The second person is also necessary as the light bar is being mounted onto the two screw studs. Cons- 250Watts of directional light generate a lot of heat on your head and with two of these, 500 Watts is the same as a hair dryer on Low-Med. Bulb life is short. in 3 months time have replaced 3 bulbs. I ordered LED bulbs from Amazon. They work great and generate less heat. These GU10 bulbs are very hard to replace! There is no room for your fingers to grip the bulb. Recommend a rubber gripper such as would be used to open a stubborn jar of pickles or the like. And then getting the two GU10 Pins to align and lock whilst twisting the bulb from the flat face of the bulb is not for the impatient!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solution to lighting problem I wrote a review about this product in Jan. and was ready to return it. An electricitian told me to try replacing the Halogen bulbs with LED bulbs. I did, and not one bulb has blown out. The LED bulbs aren't cheap but at least I haven't had to replace any of them. So, if you really like the product but was thinking about returning it because the bulbs were blowing out, just use the LED bulbs.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Looks nice, the bulbs suck This lighting looks nice. You probably know you're buying halogen from the start. The bulbs will suck more energy and will need to be replaced often (compared to LED). Within 5 weeks, two of my original bulbs went out. I'm sure the rest are doomed, as the other reviews suggest. I like the style of this lighting and am ordering LED bulbs on Amazon to hopefully remedy the bulb problem and save cash on electricity. I recommend this for looks, but the bulbs it comes with suck,

Rated 3 out of 5 by from vortex 5 light track overall this is a good looking light and was simple enough to install - very modern and great for my apt kitchen. I would've rated this 4 or 5 stars however the 50w bulbs continue to go out. I've gone though about 5 bulbs in 1 month. Not sure if some were old (5 come with kit) so these may have been cheap, not long-lasting bulbs. Since I've only had it now a month, if the new 50w GU10 bulbs don't last, I will likely return this product.
