Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by creepnwwf Doesn't even work from 5 feet away!
My friend had the cheap "as seen on tv version" of this product and it worked well, it would work over 50 feet away and through concrete walls. Being impressed with the performance of that product, I decided to purchase this name brand wireless switch. This was a big mistake, I hooked the plug to a light and the switch only worked half the time, even from 5 feet away. Sometimes the plug would turn itself on or off randomly. Luckily the Home Depot customer service was excellent and gave me a 100% refund when I returned the product. Bottom Line: You are better off purchasing the "as seen on tv" version of this product.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by KongOfFL Serves its purpose
Needed this to turn a lamp on in my bedroom when I walk in. It works and hasn't stopped working (yet) as other reviewers have complained about. It does have 1 minor, odd issue though: I don't need to fully flick the switch up/down--just gently tapping/jiggling it activates the switch--but since it doesn't limit the device in any way, I find it more humorous than a problem.
If you don't install it into a light switch box, it'll look bulky on your wall. Not an eyesore, but obvious.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Laura Very useful, but not perfect
Very easy to install and a very useful product - this switch is really a great find for the price - the only real issue with it is that the connection seems to be loose, so when you flip it back and forth very quickly it doesn't work. Just flip once and it works fine :) Also it seems to just turn off randomly sometimes - this may be happening if a neighbor has a similar switch, but that doesn't seem very likely. Also, you cannot request a certain channel setting, which means if you buy two and they both are channel "A" they will interfere with each other. I'm sure there are ways around this. The product is definitely worth buying if you need more lights activated by light switches but cannot add wiring.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by EddieR No hard wiring required.
This wireless switch outlet, if it was double the price, is still less expensive than having an electrician install a switch and an outlet. No one can tell that it isn't a hard wired switch. Pretty much plug and play! At installed height as other switches, one is hard press to think that it's any thing other than a hard wired switch.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Paolo Disappointed about random auto switch on off
The product works well when I switch on/off, also several feet away and with obstacles in between. But there is a very bad issue with the switches (I have 3 and all 3 have been doing it randomly): they can go on and off randomly, and it is a very bad thing especially during the night of course .... Not sure what to do with it, I have verified there are no neighbors around with the same switch, so it looks a real defect on this device. I didn't take time to return it back, but if I could have done easily, I would have given it back. Don't buy it, not worth.

This solution worked great for adding a swag light in the room were there was no electrical box in the ceiling. Now I can turn on the light when I enter the room.

I bought this for a floor lamp, but stopped using it a couple of days later - the lamp kept turning on randomly all by itself. Not only that, half the time flipping the switch wouldn't do anything. Finally it stopped working altogether - I went to turn on the light and nothing happened even after trying multiple times. That's when I gave up and unplugged the thing. I must have some radio interference in my house or something, but they should have found a way to deal with that - this thing was totally useless to me.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by donupby4 A little pricey, but solid value
Does NOT come with goofy wall-holster for the switch as do the cheap imitations (As-Seen-On-TV, etc). The back plate is easily removed and fastened to the wall first, then the switch/cover module is installed over it with two screws. When finished the whole thing looks like regular switch plate except that the assembly is approx. 1/2" thick so it stands out from the wall a bit.
Easy, fast, that's it. It works well,...instant on/off. Switch, itself, has 'solid' feel as if it will be durable.
